I've been carrying for a few weeks now, and I'm getting used to it. The other day I went to the local 7-11 to get a few things, and as I pull up two cruisers were there and the officers were walking into the store. Took a deep breath, walked in, made my purchase with the officer's at the counter, made some small talk with them and left. That was my first "test" of being within close proximity to an officer while carrying. Either they didn't care, or my concealment method works well. My initial intent was to wait or go back later, but I'm glad I got that over with.

Made two stops yesterday after getting my plastic in hand. First stop was to Top Brass to pickup a Blackhawk IWB holster. Then without even thinking about it, I ended up at Wally World doing the Wally Walk (was picking up some Blue Bell to head over to a friends for dinner). Carrying IWB was not bad at all, was only slightly uncomfortable while driving. I have a Thesis holster on the way, so I shall see how that one is. :txflag:

I received my license on Monday. Yesterday morning I put my CM9 in my front pocket in a sticky holster and went to work. The holster is OK for pocket carry though a bit tight right now. I actually have two sizes of sticky holster, one for my CM9 and one for my Shield. The CM9 fit well in the larger and it was loose enough that I could actually draw the gun from the pocket without the holster coming out.

I did go into Buccee's this morning with the CM9 IWB and that wasn't too nerve wracking. I will graduate to my larger guns once I break the Shield in and I receive my Instructor belt in the mail. I might try the Wally Walk this weekend if I have the time.

My plastic arrive in the mail today. Im going to start my new life style tonight. The Wally Walk.
My little brother has had his CHL for 18 years & is Grandfathered into the system. He was telling me that after the new wears off going armed is like taking youw walltet & just become routeen. I will learn what concealment methods work best as I go.

Im pretty much prepared. I will be using my OWB concealment holster with my Glock 17 Gen4. (Supprisingly it hugs my body well & doesnt print at all)
The Ammo Im using is Hornady Critical Duty. It is less over penatrating & doesn have bullet set back problem. A spare mag on my weak side in a holder.
Also Hyro-Shock is good ammo too. :txflag:

Finally did the Wally Walk!! Then did a Home Depot walk the next day.

Carried a Shield in the front pocket of my cargo shorts for the Wally Walk. For Home Depot, I carried the Shield in an hybrid IWB Foxx holster set at 4 o'clock. Using Federal HST 147 grain JHP.

This happened to me on my 4 carry. I was eating lunch (Hooters) :anamatedbanana and 2 officers came in and sat right next to me. I didnt worry at all
I noticed one of them was carrying a revolver. I made the commnet, I dont see too many officers carrying revlovers anymore, he said he carried one for over 35 years. S&W 686 I think

I sat one table over from a couple of HPD officers last Friday while eating lunch. I'm not nearly as nervous as I thought I'd be carrying. I guess I've been reading enough on here to realize that if you keep it covered, nobody is going to notice.

I carried my G19 through the mall for several hours on Saturday and I felt like a fish in water. Guess I was ready.

SQLGeek - I'm on day five & I'm starting to get used to carrying in public. I keep my License easy to retrieve when needed by LEOs or just in case of an accidental discovery. By my drivers license.
I too went to the mall looking for concealment vests & Stuff. No 30;06 signs anywhere. At first I was thinking "Im I susposed to be walking around like this"??? :biggrinjester:
My new paddle holster is awesome & I can take it off when I get to work & back on when I leave. The gun locks in the holster & it has a belt clip to keep the holster in place.
Im not as nervous around LEOs now when in cafe's & stuff. Im definatly well concealed!!!

One more thing Id like to share- I cant carry at work so I lock it up in the truck. I dont have any stickers on my vehicles having anything to do with guns -not even NRA stickers. NO CHL badges or any sissy stuff like that!!! "rlol"

Plan on doing the wally walk. I bought a Galco IWB from Cabela's, and regret it. I ordered a Crossbreed ST. It comes highly recommended from my friends and instructor. Been carry on my land for years, but open carry haha.
