Re: Kerry: foreign students scared of US guns
Well maybe if the gun control advocates would stop lying about gun violence in America then it would be less of an issue. Truth is unless you are in a urban area or somehow involved with drugs the incidents of gun violence are pretty rare but hey why let the truth stand in the way.

Re: Kerry: foreign students scared of US guns
I was traveling yesterday and couldn't weigh in on this thread. It's funny but a buddy of mine called me yesterday and while we were talking business and trying to get some time scheduled to meet face to face about some work stuff he told me he's going to be out of pocket for a week. He, his wife, and a few other couples are hosting a dozen or so high school foreign exchange students from their area at his company's deer lease / hunting camp. He was telling me how much the kids who have gone in the past love shooting. Apparently they set up all sorts of activities in the Hill Country (hiking, biking, boating, etc.) and once the kids get to shoot, that's all they want to do.
Also, just to finish out, I agree with the guys who said foreign students are one of the reasons they carry a gun...

MORE LIBERAL LIES
Those "facts" that state Japan has a lower crime rate is a LIE. America is actually safer than Japan. This is because the Japanese police always report any death as one by suicide if they don't think they can solve a murder case. The next time a libtard tells you that Japan bans guns and Japan is "safer" because of this, make sure to remind that libtard that those Japanese crime statistics are LIES. There are statistics that say Japn is number 10 on a list of 109 countries for SUICIDE: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_co ... icide_rate This is a LIE. Japan is probably the number 10 country in the world for MURDERS. I have been to Japan numerous times. It is very safe from street crime, BUT not murders from people who know you. People in Japan kill each other for all sorts of reasons such as life insurance fraud, jilted lovers, competition in the workplace, etc. That's because the crime of MURDER pays in Japan since almost all murders are ruled a "suicide" by the police. They do this because polititcians will lose elections if the populace doesn't feel that they are being kept "safe" by the police.
Also, 1/3 of rapes in Japan are rapes of children. (sorry, I forgot where I read that statistic)
I remember one case in Japan where a young sumo wrestler who died had bruises and cigarette butt burns on his body but the police ruled that as "death by natural causes" (suicide). The sumo center's instructor tried to have the body cremated before the parents got there. The parents raised a big stink about it in the press. (from HBO's "freakonomics")

Interesting --and not the only bogus statistic the agenda driven use to falsely contrast the US with Japan and other countries.

Re: Kerry: foreign students scared of US guns
I remember back in the 1990s when we had "gun tourism" from Japanese travelers. They paid a lot of money to come here for a week and do a bunch of what they're not allowed to do their entire lives back home........that is spend time at the range and quote Dirty Harry all day.
[japanese accept]"You feel lucky punk? Get off my lawn!!"[/japanese accent]
There were even companies that would organize these tours in order to secure the blessings of liberty for any Japanese citizen with enough money to buy it for a couple of weeks.

Why do these arrogant trust fund babies stand up for everyone but the US citizen?

I'm with RottenApple. And they're still coming here, aren't they? The proof is in the pudding.RottenApple wrote:I call bull. I'm willing to bet that a lot of foreign students come from places with some real gun/violence issues.
I had a professor friend from China visit me in College Station for a year. I made a point of taking him to a gun store (even bought a revolver in his presence). He was generally interested. He even went to some shooting camp with other (probably Chinese) foreign students. I got the impression that he enjoyed his exposure to 2nd Amendment freedom.

I'm quite sure that if Kerry had not been assigned to a safe, non-combat post, his own troops would have killed him in the field - just like Neidermeyer.....

I don't know how many times I have come across foreign-visitors that are chomping at the bit for a chance to come to the US and shoot a weapon...any weapon.

Absolutely. Like I mentioned previously, gun-tourism is a thriving business.Purplehood wrote:I don't know how many times I have come across foreign-visitors that are chomping at the bit for a chance to come to the US and shoot a weapon...any weapon.
