Re: New SAXDs 9mm
Since its the exact dimensions of an xds 45, wouldn't it use the same holsters?

That first page on their web site. "Same width, Highth, Same Holster."
Major egg on my face.
Now just to get busy deciding.
Thanks.

Seems like the only advantage is that the magazine holds more rounds. I don't understand the excitement about it.

Re: New SAXDs 9mm
Really not a bad question LT, since the .45 is larger than the 9 in other XD models. If Springfield stays their usual course, we will also see a xds40 eventually. That's the pistol I'm not real excited about, but I'm a 9 or 45 guy.

Re: New SAXDs 9mm
I checked their website this morning but can't find what I think I remember about the width on the XDs vs. other XD models. I know the XDs page on their website says "same dimensions" but I think that may be a comparison between 45 and 9.
When I looked at these XDs models before, I remember them being thinner than other XD models in the same caliber (i.e. 0.9" for the XDs vs 1.1" for the XDm).
That's the advantage (trade off) of the single stack model. Thinner weapon to carry at the expense of magazine capacity.
Of course I can't find "proof" today but that's what my feeble memory is telling me. It might be worth some further investigation before you move forward if the same holster issue is important to you.
Good luck.

Re: New SAXDs 9mm
Thanks RJGold,
The "same Holster" issue is only for the XDs. So a maker advertising one for a .45acp will also fit the 9mm.
Got a Crossbread Clip Slide ordered. Still 8 weeks out.

Re: New SAXDs 9mm
Lt,
White Hat has "Crossbreed types" of holsters with the benefit of being able (like CompTac) of using the same Leather and having interchangeable kydex
My last white hat took about 3 weeks to get, and was cheaper than Crossbreed.
I have just ordered another (IWB for my XDS .45), my last was OWB for my M&P (Snap Slide type)
Just a suggestion
