The real problem is a small number of legislators who are in senior positions and will never lose an election because they are anti-RKBA.

Underlying that is the large number of voters who do not care about 2nd-Amendment issues or have a vague feeling that "something must be done" about violent crime.

"Majority rules" is a bad idea and not the law of the land.

An interesting website to look at is http://www.google.com/trends

You can compare the number of web searches for topics such as: NRA, Brady Campaign, RKBA, etc... What you will find is the anti- organizations are looked for by a microscopic number of people, however, the pro- organizations have a decent amount of traffic. The anti- side is nothing more than a few professional mouthpieces for a position that nobody supports. Unfortunately, the media/politicians/educators make this position seem like it is the majority one.

That's an understatement. How many forums are there for firearms (all kinds of interests), self-defense, and hunting? And they all have hundreds or thousands of messages a day. The Million Mom March can't bring out as many participants as a single gun show.

Ever wonder why this is the case? After all, white supremacists are also a tiny, tiny minority, but no one acts like they are in the majority.

There is a distinguishing feature of the gun-ban lobby that makes it very different and much more dangerous. It's spelled M-O-N-E-Y.

Their numbers are miniscule, but not the numbers in their bank accounts. Where the NRA has the backing of 4 million mostly "little people" with their $25 contributions, the gun-ban lobby gets the backing or 4 or 5 very big people. People like Soros, the Joyce Foundation, and a few others. These people give hundreds of millions of dollars to what are in essence small groups of lunatics.

Otherwise, how do you think an organizations like "Americans for Gun Safety", or "the Brady Campaign", with a few hundred members each, can afford to have any paid staff or drum up any media play at all?
Ahm jus' a Southern boy trapped in a Yankee's body
