Where do you carry your license?

I bought a neck chain id holder for mine. I was told by a leo that having it around your neck is best. It stops reaching for a wallet when your gun is on your hip. :txflag

Chl and DL are in the same place. Car insurance in sun visor, extra car key in my pocket

Mine lives directly underneath my DL. I've never had to remove it except during renewals.

Mine is directly *above* by DL. Less likely for me to forget to show it.

Mine lives under my driver's license with my military ID sandwiched in between.

If I have to show ID at the store or something, my ID is still covering my CHL. If a cop asks for ID, he's getting all three cards.

I have DL, Ins, & CHL sandwiched together & in a small case. When gun is on my body, the case is in my front pocket. The rare occasions that gun is in purse, then case is in my purse also

Keep mine right behind my license in my wallet with my insurance card right behind my chl. Figure if i'm asked for ID that is as good a place as any.

How's that LEO going to know you have a gun on your hip before you show him your CHL and he asks where it is?

The only time I've forgotten to alert a LEO to my CHL, he already knew and reminded me himself.


OP, I carry mine in my wallet. Every time I've been pulled over (which is a lot, unfortunately ) the officer has said go ahead and pull it out of my wallet. Some have even commented that they weren't worried about it being next to my gun.

I am pretty sure it come up on their screen when they run your License Plate number that the owner of the vehicle has a CHL. I am not certain but I have always heard that. Maybe a LEO can chime in. Gigag where you at? LOL. Unless you just meant the LEO wouldn't know where they gun was or if you were armed at that moment. In which case yeah they wouldn't until you tell them.

Oh and I keep mine under my DL like most of the posters.
