Just wrote my Congressman and Senators over IRS

Post by Kythas »

I am absolutely furious over the IRS scandal that is breaking. When an agency of the government is allowed to attack the political opponents of the currently sitting President, that spells the end of a free nation.

Consequently, I have just sent the following letters to my US Representative and Senators Cruz and Cornyn.
Rep. Johnson,

I have never jumped on the bandwagon for the impeachment of President Obama for any of the scandals in his Administration so far. I believe the standards to begin impeachment proceedings against a sitting President should be held incredibly high. However, with what's coming out regarding the use of the IRS to attack his political opponents, I believe impeachment is the only fitting option.

Now it's claimed that the IRS leaked documents to organizations opposed to Romney to attack him during the campaign, such as, oh, I don't know, the CO-CHAIR OF THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN!

This is in addition to the IRS targeting any group that applied for tax exempt status that had the words "tea party" or "patriot" in their name, any group that had as its purpose "educating about the Constitution", delaying their applications for upwards of 18 months, yet fast tracked those same applications for progressive organizations.

This is absolutely despicable. NO government agency should be allowed to attack the political opponents of the currently sitting President, no matter WHO that President is.

Obama should absolutely be impeached for this. There are other things that warrant impeachment (Benghazi, Fast & Furious, AP Wiretaps) but this one in particular causes the most damage to the very foundation of our Republic.

When an arm of the government begins attacking political opposition the concept of freedom in this country is over. This is not indicative of a free country; this is indicative of an authoritarian regime where people will be afraid to speak their minds in fear of government reprisal.

As one of your constituents in the 3rd Congressional District of Texas, I am asking you to support Articles of Impeachment against President Barack Obama.

Heads need to roll on this. And, the buck stops with the President.

One of the many benefits I anticipate from the upcoming move is being able to write Senators and Congressmen and state officials who are not part of the problem.

I see no point in wasting postage to write Feinstein or Boxer or Moonbeam about anything. I realized a few years ago that there is not a single elected official in office that I voted for, with the possible exception of an obscure school board member or two who run here on scatter type races, vote for 4 out of 8 or 9 candidates..... who can remember which ones you voted for?
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

That is well written and on point.

However, here's my biggest concern about impeachment:

Shotgun Joe is next in line.
