Is $900 a good custom AR15 built price?
Hello I am building an AR for my brother and I am curious if $900 was roughly a good price for the total budget?
Thanks
Thanks

It could happen, you could do everything but a lower for $699 right now

$900 is a very good price for an AR but the price depends on parts.
Budgeting:
Barrel : $280
Lower : $180
Bolt Carrier : $150+
LPK no FCG : $ 60
Gets you to over $600 in a hurry and you still need parts.

I got the lower for $100
upper-$200
Barrel=$300(A certain barrel my brother wanted)
Thats all I have bought so far, but doing the math on what else I have planned out so far will be roughly $400

the bolt I want is $120 through aimsurplus.com
just super hard to get since it goes so quick.

I built an AR-15 for under $700. $509.99 for the upper, from Sota Arms. $168 for the lower from New Frontier Armory.

Yes that is a good price for ar15. If I were to buy fully assembled ar15 rifle were I live. It would cost starting $1,400 for a basic config.

M&A Parts has a 20" upper, complete with BCG, right now for $460. If you really wanted to get as cheap as possible, you could build for under $700.
Re: Is $900 a good custom AR15 built price?
For that price, I think that's fair. Now I am comparing this before all the hype. The average price for a complete AR-15 from S&W, Bushmaster, RRA or even DPMS was around $900 (give or take.)
The benefit of building your own is like any other gun; you can choose the best from all and make a Frankenstein.
What you also do is buy this said AR15 and give it couple hundred rounds and see what you don't like.
Best thing about most rifles, especially ARs, all parts (for the most part) are interchangeable.
All in all, fair deal.... shoot, EXCELLENT deal for this day in age.
Can you give more details as far as what the material the lowers and uppers are made with?

He will never give you more that what you can handle.
