Mayor Bloomberg rips NY Times over stop and frisk coverage

Post by gthaustex »

I'm pretty convinced that Nanny Bloomberg doesn't like any part of the Bill of Rights. More push from him to assert continued infringement on the 4th Amend. rights of New Yorkers...

And it's for the children, don't you know.
'If they would have stopped and frisked the guys who shot my son, maybe he would be alive today. We need stop-and-frisk. We need it to save our children's lives.' -
The teen, who was preparing for his prom and his graduation from the Urban Assembly Bronx Studio for Writers and Artists, was gunned down near his home in Foxhurst at 8:15 p.m. on April 22. A thug fired nine shots into the crowd. Police believe Bryant was not the intended target.

Bloomberg said it was exactly the kind of violent crime that stop- and-frisk prevents.
Strangely enough, Bloomberg made no mention of how the criminals were able to obtain guns in NYC in the first place, given all of the laws on the books against possession and carry of such weapons in NYC...

It's no secret, he blames states like Virginia and other southern, more pro-2A states.

NYC... Put a fence around it and take away everyones' rights.
Either they're a criminal, or criminally insane for staying there when U-Haul is so inexpensive.

I escaped from NYC when I was 17. Quite some years ago.

Bloomberg is an idiot. Stop and frisk is already the law of the land. It's called a Terry stop and has been ruled Constitutional by the Supreme Court.

True. In my reading of the article, and why I posted it was that I think that Bloomberg doesn't want Terry stops. He seems to want everyone to be looked over via stop and frisk, regardless of articulable suspicion, etc. Perhaps I am wrong, but given his megalomania, it seems to fit.

Not real. The "Daily Currant" is a satire site, not real articles...kind of like "The Onion". Still funny, though.

They keep deleting my comments on that page. I guess they don't want to debate facts
