I think that there are probably some people who really have no understanding of guns and/or the Second Amendment, who only listen to the "news" from Chris Matthews or Brian Williams - or none at all - who help keep the numbers high on the "support background checks" side.
The outright lies by the press are bringing this country to it's knees. Not helped much by the public edumication system either.
