I definitely don't care for any more "Stock up now!" rhetoric. One, there is nothing left to stock up on. Not at prices I consider reasonable, anyway. Two, while the fears have been valid, that is the reaction that has wiped out the shelves to begin with.

That aside, I'd like to hear more about this if other legal experts chime in/write columns. I know that I need to be more educated about executive orders in general and what sort of leeway each Pres has.

I'm starting to see the same thing from other sites...not mainstream yet, but I am seeing it multiple places. Here's just one:

It seems that the time to stock up on firearms and ammo is well past.

I believe we should be stockpiling torches and pitchforks.

If the 2nd admendment only applies to muskets and muzzle-loaders, then the 1st admentment must apply only to the spoken or printed word. Printing must be done on hand presses, news stories must be written in longhand, no keyboards or electric processes may be used.

When the NRA creates some news about this you will have confirmation that it is true. Otherwise it remains an internet rumor.

The executive order that I've read only changes who has authority over the US Munitions list. It removes authority from the Secretary of State and grants it to the Attorney General. I believe it also states that the Attorney General will need to consult with the Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Commerce. Now Holder may do something in the way of banning ammunition or parts kits, however, I haven't seen anything so far that suggests that is the case.
