Gabby Giffords group goes after senators

Post by gthaustex »

Wasting no time after the defeat of recent gun control proposals.....
The group co-founded by former Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband is rolling out a series of radio ads starting Wednesday
The ads highlight McConnell and Ayotte’s putting loyalty to the special interest gun lobby in Washington instead of supporting wildly popular sensible policies that would keep their communities safer,” the group Americans for Responsible Solutions said in a statement to FoxNews.com. “In Kentucky, 82 percent of people support background checks; in New Hampshire, 89 percent of residents support them.”
“As Gabby said last week, if we can’t keep our communities safe with the Congress we have, we will work to change Congress,” Pia Carusone, executive director of ARS said. “Senator McConnell and Senator Ayotte turned their backs on their constituents at home in order to do the bidding in Washington of the corporate gun lobby. We’re going to make sure their constituents know that, effective immediately.”
/sarcasm

Strange. I thought that they were doing the bidding of the people they represent by voting against that monstrosity. Odd that they aren't going after any of the Democrats who voted against the proposals.....

/sarcasm off

Gun laws in Arizona being what they are, it may be that the people she used to represent are not unhappy with how things worked out. She no longer speaks for them.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

I think her district in Tucson is probably about the most liberal in the state, next to the Flagstaff area. Regardless, she has long since spent her sympathy capital with me.

While I have a great deal of sympathy for what she has gone through, and the pain she endured, allowing herself to be paraded around to allow Skippy to try to make a few more points reduces her character in my eyes.
If the 2nd admendment only applies to muskets and muzzle-loaders, then the 1st admentment must apply only to the spoken or printed word. Printing must be done on hand presses, news stories must be written in longhand, no keyboards or electric processes may be used.

I don't see how much has changed. She was puppet before and she is a puppet now.

yea but they are only sensable to people that arent effected by it. i find it interesting the democrats want me to show an id to carry a gun but showing an id to vote is racist and profiling.

Them wanting you to show the ID to carry a gun identifies you to them. Has nothing to do with election outcomes in their minds.

They don't want a ID for voters because they would loose 40% or more of their low information voting base. And that would have changed the current position we find ourselves in now!

Hmmm. Imagine that! :iagree: 100%.

I got the feeling that she isn't all there. I watched an interview with her and her husband about a month ago and got the feeling she was either being prompted or had been coached. She sounded very much like a child reciting lines in a school play.

This is the same group of people that seem to think that the 2nd Amendment is the only Amendment that doesn't apply to modern times.

I was sympathetic for what happened to her, but she has just turned out to be a media whore. Just another Progressive who wants to tell Americans how to live their lives and what is best for them. Sorry, that isn't what The United States is about.
If she really wants to stop "gun violence" she needs to start pounding on Eric Holder and other state Attorneys General and pressure them to ENFORCE the laws that are already on the books. There was a GREAT post earlier this week on this forum - 6 things that Democrats need to stop doing. Too bad none of them will listen!
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.

The group co-founded by former Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband...
It would be more accurate to say;

"The group founded by former Rep Giffords husband, which uses a seriously wounded and handicapped woman as a prop.."
