Juan Williams sheds light on the reason the majority of Black and Latino Americans support gun control.

The number one cause of death for Black American males between the ages of 15 and 34 is murder.
The weapon of choice in these murders is the handgun.
More Black American males died as victims of murder in 2010, than in the entire Viet Nam conflict, all services.
The equivalent of a Newtown Shooting occurs every 4 days in America's inner cities.

Like Rubio said, we don't have a problem with guns, we have a problem with violence.

What is the percentage of street drug dealers for Africanos, Latinos and Gringos?

It's news that Juan Williams is saying it.

It's deeper than that. After the civil war, southern whites disarmed blacks so that it would be easier to terrorize them. If a black man was found with a gun, he was strung up. So there are generations of black women who have taught their children that having a gun was a bad thing and that they should never be caught with one. Add that to the more modern drug turf wars and you have a culture that is completely opposed to gun ownership because all it has led to is death and destruction.

Correction. He said more black American males died as victims of murder between 1979 and 2010. About 6000 blacks die each year due to violence, mostly in the Democrat controlled inner cities.

This isn't rocket science. Watch the show The First 48. How often do you see a white victim's murder being investigated?

And the problem with violence isn't the result of mental health - it's the result of poverty, culture, and kids that see violence as the only way to be "successful". Putting cops in schools or adding mental health info to the NICS isn't going to solve any of that.

Juan's statement was, I'll paraphrase, "More black men died between 1979 and 2010, than died in all the lynchings that occurred in America."
The stats posted are from my own research,
86.8% of the men who were KIA were Caucasian,12.1% (5,711) were black; 1.1% belonged to other races.

Which fits your 6000 figure.

I disagree about poverty being a cause of violence. Culture, lack of family and values, are a large contributer. There will be self worth problems when over 75% of black children in Chicago are born out of wedlock.

You're right. Lots of kids are raised with good values even though the family is poor.
