I carry the XD9SC and love it. It's accurate and perfect in size. Downside was finding a leather holster that was not on back order.

Glocks seem to be great for the accessibility of after market parts.

Go shoot both and see what you like.

WOW - what a response! Thank you to everyone who has replied.

I do plan on shooting both......I think I am leaning towards the 45ACP.

This won't be my first gun....I already have a Kimber 1911 45ACP and love it.

I think I will take a study break from finals today and go to a gun shop to handle them both also.

I will post on here which one I purchase.

Thanks again!!!

There is a significant difference in the grip size (circumference) for the 45ACP in Glock vs XD (the XD being smaller). Some people don't care and for others it's a deal breaker.

Glock addressed that with the Model21SF. It's almost as thin as the XD now. But for carry I wouldn't go with the 21, I go either the 30 or the 36. Or in the XD45 go with the compact model.

I have an XD45 Compact, and I'm not impressed with it. It's a nice pistol, and fun to shoot, but I prefer my Glocks over it due to trigger travel and reset, holster availability, and parts availability.

You can't go wrong with either one. The XD and the Glock are both excellent firearms. I have an XD40 so you know which one I like the best. I like the feel and added safety features of the XD.
