That was true, he said, even after controlling for things like weather and amenities that might attract people to states independent of these freedom measures.

The study also found that states with more freedom tended to see stronger income growth. This was particularly true in states with more regulatory freedom.

"Adam Smith was right," Ruger said. "If you have economic freedom you will have economic growth."

The lib/progessive movement in the U.S. has always been predicated on the belief that Socialist policies will work here because, our "Leaders" believe themselves to be smarter, kinder, compassionate, etc. not at all like those nasty totalitarians who undertook the freeing of the masses heretofore. That the facts don't gibe with their beliefs, and that those other failed movements all started out with the same belief patterns, matters not one iota to these new supermen.
