I'm not sure if this goes in Political Issues or Crime Blotter....:
A Texas Republican congressman got into a late-night verbal altercation with U.S. Park Police officers earlier this month, pulling rank in an attempt to get out of a parking ticket near the Lincoln Memorial.

Shortly after 11 p.m. on March 13, officers wrote Rep. Louie Gohmert a citation for parking his black Ford SUV in a spot reserved for National Park Service vehicles, according to a Park Police report obtained by POLITICO.

There seems to be a difference of recollection about this.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

He told the Park Police that his congressional parking placard allows him to park in that spot, and he’s on the committee that oversees the agency.
Since the voters technically "oversee" members of Congress, I wonder if we could use that reasoning to park in any of the free spaces? Ultimately, the Congressman, the park police and the forest service employees all work for us....right?

Uh ohhhhh, I just helped my Dad figure out that he got redistricted into Gohmert's district out of Jeb Hensarling's digs...They split Wood County right in half up that way...

I thought Louie had a little more reasonable snap than this...I thinks we are not seeing the full picture here...Needs a little more study...
