Chicagoans urged to sign up for concealed carry classes

#1

Post by JJVP »

In Springfield, legislators are debating proposals to permit and regulate the concealed carrying of guns.

But in Chicago, residents already are being urged to start the process of getting a concealed carry permit.

These class are available in June, according to the article, so I guess there's time to tweak the courses to meet the as-of-yet-unpromulgated training requirements. It's encouraging to see folks in Chicago be proactive about gun rights, but I hope people don't get burned by taking classes that won't qualify them for concealed carry once the dust settles.

So just about the time every state has concealed carry they will have made the possession of weapons a federal felony. How nice.

I would be much more likely to go home and see some family if there were reciprocal agreements. I just don't see it happening any time soon, even if they have to allow residents to carry.
