Turns out it's the government that has rights, not the people. I guess the Founders got it wrong.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said on Sunday: Sometimes government does know best. And in those cases, Americans should just cede their rights.

“I do think there are certain times we should infringe on your freedom,” Mr. Bloomberg said, during an appearance on NBC.
“Aside from the soda size ban and a well-publicized call for tighter gun control, another contentious policy he pushed: Nudging hospitals to lock up baby formula to force mothers to breast-feed newborns.”

This guy is headed for a padded cell. :anamatedbanana
:banghead: :banghead: :mad5 Grrrrrrrr! I got really mad over that one. I am all about nursing. I have nursed all of our children to two years of age. I think if at all possible moms should nurse. I have also known people who tried as hard as they could and just no dice. It is much better for a child to have formula than to "fail to thrive" and die! Educate moms, let them choose! Most want to do the best they can for their kids. When a mom can't she should not be made to feel bad.

What hypocrisy. All bout choice when it comes to the the disposal of unwanted and inconvenient children, but if don't you dare feed your child formula! Talk about a war on women!
And being lactose intolerant since infancy, I was starving to death, except the times I was in the hospital being fed artificial soy formula.

Precisely! This is why we don't need laws for treating humans like cattle!

If I ever run across Mayor Bloomberg that will be the day I go to jail for kicking his a**. He is a dictator tried and true. I think we have a weight issue in America but I think people have a right to make their own choice. They need to be educated but beyond that you can't legislate their health.

And don't get me started on his gun laws, cigarette laws etc..

'Cause puking is the most natural response to Bloomberg opening his mouth and spewing his communist garbage. What is WRONG with New Yorkers? Seriously! Do you really want someone in government to decide how much you should be allowed to drink?????!!!!! Wake up!
Wouldn't a better term be "bloomperged"?

Well, at least he came out of the closet and said it in public...

Every once in a while, some guy who takes an idea and turns it into quite a few billions gets the idea that he knows everything, and what is best for everybody.

It used to be those guys were too proud to run for elective office, so they had only indirect influence, plenty enough.

The kind of people he deals with probably do need a nanny state to watch over them. Most of the folks I saw in LA the other day certainly fit that bill.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.
