So you vote for people who want to disarm you???? {{sratches head}}
As bewildering as this may seem to those of us that use our own minds to think, there are many people who simply follow the latest celebrity recommendation or the lame stream media propaganda, it is not as unusual as we would like to believe.
I have spent most of my life around blue collar working class people and many of them are hunters and gun owners. Many years ago the Democrats were believed to be the "working mans" party. Some folks don't realize their party has been taken over by socialists.
Before the socialists took over the party, the democrats were actually not an enemy to the American way of life as they are today. Somewhere along the line, the democrats were taken over by elitist rich snobs who see the working class as subjects needing controlled and cared for like pets.
The democrats have done a better job of pretending to be looking out for minorities and the downtrodden. I say pretending because it is just that, a dog and pony show. The democrats have also done a great job of making it "cool" to vote democrat. After all, if rich gangsta rappers, movie stars and other elitist celebrities say to vote democrat is cool, who are we to say differently?
The Republican Party has managed to get itself painted as the party of old people. The party of the rich. Republicans want to take away your "free cheese". They are the party who wants to get involved in your personal moral choices. It is not "cool" to vote republican.
I wonder at times if some of these folks who proudly proclaim to be democrats these days, would prefer guns be outlawed so they would not be forced to own one for protection. Many are the same crowd who, like good ole joe, claim to be pro gun because they hunt ducks. It is not likely these posters will say the truth on this forum and admit they feel we don't "need" certain types of guns. They are very likely more concerned with the right to free cheese than the RKBA.
That being said, there are still a few old school democrats who are pro second amendment. Not many, but they do exist.
I personally find myself stuck out in the middle somewhere. I absolutely despise the socialist(democrap) philosophy of share the wealth and control the people and I don't particularly agree with the Republican Party platform on moral/social issues. For instance, I couldn't care less about who marries who. I am pro stem cell research. I don't see scientific advances as a threat to religious beliefs.
I voted republican because my main issue is freedom. I am not about government being my "daddy". I vote republican because the Republican Party issues I disagree with are not issues they could ever implement anyway. Nobody is going to outlaw abortion... Ever. That train has left the station. Stem cell research will advance in spite of the few who are apposed to it. The topic of who marries who, bah... Again... That train has left the station. Heck, I'm for legalizing marijauna and treating it like we do alcohol. But again, I am not so concerned with any of these issues that I am willing to give up my basic freedom from government tyranny by voting for a socialist(democrat).
I bet some of the folks voting democrat are just the opposite. They may be more concerned with republicans taking away moral decision making rights and government free cheese than they are with democrats being able to take away our RKBA.
