:iagree:
It caused great pain in my heart when I was researching Cruz prior to the election and discovered that he can't run for POTUS :cryin
After immigration from Cuba to Texas his parents moved from Texas to Canada for a couple of years for work and it just so happens that Ted was born during those years. To bad they didn't just cross back over here for his birth. We all know that since he is a Republican conservative that will definitly be an issue.
Ummmmm. Perhaps I. Missed something, but why can't Cruz run for POTUS? He was born in Canada to parents who were American citizens. He is a 'natural born citizen'.

According to Wiki
Cruz was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where his parents, Eleanor Darragh and Rafael Cruz, were working in the oil business.[7][8] His father was a Cuban immigrant to the United States during the Cuban Revolution.[9] His mother, an American, was reared in Delaware, in a family of Irish and Italian descent.[8][10] Cruz's family returned to the U.S. when he was four years old.[9]

Ted Cruz was not born in a U.S. state or territory, so clearly he is not a birthright citizen under the 14th amendment. However, under federal law, he was still born a citizen, which makes Ted Cruz a natural born citizen. One criteria for “Citizenship at Birth for Children Born Outside the U.S. and its Territories” from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services:

Eleanor Darragh, mother of Ted Cruz, was raised in Delaware, graduated from a Catholic High School in the U.S., as well as Rice University, so clearly she meets the residency requirements.

And the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond Sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born Citizens: Provided, that the right of citizenship shall not descend to persons whose fathers have never been resident in the United States…
Maybe I was wrong. His father was not a citizen but his mother is, and they were married. i'm not usually happy when I'm wrong, but I am glad about this.

So why can't Cruz just say he was born in Hawaii and not show anyone his birth certificate?

There we go. Now were all those senators in the shadows taking notes. This is how you get the nations and the presidents attention. Grab them by the (political) throat and don't let go till they have agreed to abide by the law.

I am particularly disgusted by McCains and Graham's comments. They are acting like crabs in a bucket trying to pull down the senators that stand out. If they are too tired to fight, or if they have no courage left then gracefully stand aside.

And they just confirmed Hagel.

Now, it is time for the "old timers" to go. McCain upset me just a little today.

I disgusted with a lot of the old timers that are out of gas that want to hold the others back.

The president can legally pardon a convicted murderer but NOBODY has the legal authority to assasinate an American citizen on American soil unless they are an immediate threat to someone else. Why is it that so few are standing up with Paul on this? A big outcry about water boarding but no outcry about murder.

Wait, what happened to the other 14 Senators? :headscratch

There are 57 states and 2 per each state? Remember, Obama said we have 57 states and here's his lapel pin to prove it. :biggrinjester:
