Athough sad that someone was injured, it just means that the rules were not followed.

To me, the saddest part is the damage it will do to the efforts to protect the kids. Public perception is huge and this doesn't help.

Well, that will definitely be a setback for those of us looking to incorporate CHLs into school.

People need to realize that all eyes are on them during this process.

Very tragic incident.

Not as bad as it might have sounded at first..
one certified person stayed for private instruction with the instructor and had a mechanical malfunction with his weapon.

With the assistance of the instructor, the malfunction was addressed, but the gun misfired and the bullet ricocheted coming back to strike the VISD employee in the left leg.

The VISD employee was attended to at the scene and transferred to Tyler for further treatment.

The injury is not life threatening or disabling.

My point exactly. Public perception is set and becomes reality regardless the actual facts and circumstances.
