Obama using fake Twitter messages in fight over gun control

The Hill
By Pete Kasperowicz - 02/25/13 12:18 PM ET
A Texas Republican on Monday said President Obama's gun control campaign is a fraud based on fake messages over Twitter.
Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) accused Obama of trying to make support for his position look stronger than it really is by flooding Twitter with messages from people who don't exist.
"Obama's anti-gun campaign is a fraud," Stockman said. "Obama's supporters are panicking and willing to do anything to create the appearance of popular support, even if it means trying to defraud Congress," he added. "I call upon the president to denounce this phony spam campaign."

When I read the title of the OP, a voice in my head said "don't even open it, you'll just get your blood pressure up"

Once again the voice was right.
"All bleeding eventually stops.......quit whining!"

Remember the old saying: Don't dress for the job you have, dress for the job you want? Well, he's just following that advice. Once achieving dictator status, it won't matter what lies he tells, how he gets his wealth, or who he kills; he'll be untouchable. Looks like he's doing a GREAT job of "dressing" for that job.... Amazing that more people aren't getting this. Or maybe not; more fun to watch Honey Boo Boo. :banghead:

This goes on all over the internet. A lot of supposed comments, tweets, product reviews, and the like, are fake. I'd be surprised if this gang of criminals didn't exploit techniques that are so widely in use.

It is pretty much internet knowledge now, in a serious way, that many of the worst trolls are paid trolls. Its done through one of those "work from home" things. They get a mass email telling them what sites to visit and suggested topics to chime in with, often encouraging as much foul language as they can muster. That way, it comes from "real people", but it still accomplishes the focused intent which is to shut down dissent, or to derail any actual conversations. You will find these folks all over the place and there aren't as many as you would think, either. Just the same ones doing this stuff over and over. A lot of time, the stuff they write is boilerplate, almost the exact same wording from site to site. If they get banned, they just start a new account and away they go again.
