GOP senators waiting for President Obama's outreach

http://www.politico.com/story/2013/02/g ... 87759.html
President Barack Obama will need Republican senators to pass his ambitious agenda — and the White House has even identified the top prospects.

But after months of buildup and a week since his State of the Union address, key aides on the Hill and at the White House acknowledge that even GOP senators who fit Obama’s vision of bipartisanship — Sens. Mark Kirk of Illinois, Rob Portman of Ohio, Lamar Alexander of Tennessee and Tom Coburn of Oklahoma — are all waiting to hear anything from the president.

If the GOP was worth a half a shovel of horse dung, there never would have been any reason to create a "Tea party".

The GOP is worthless, weak, corrupt, and lead by an absolute coward in the house.

The GOP reminds me of the Prussian Officer Corps before, and during, WWII Germany. They KNEW the potential threat posed by Hitler and his band of political goons, but did NOTHING. The ONLY leaders capable of stopping that insanity were spineless, and completely willing to sell their nation, and their very soul, as long as it meant they got to keep THEIR "power".

I'm already saved. No politician can add to that or take it away from me. That said, "sell us" has a certain je ne sais quoi about it.

I'm not really too sure that the GOP can save itself...let alone anyone else!

All I can say is this. Despite the viewpoint of some, I will still be one of those people who will vote Republican in a general election, if for no other reason than they are not nowhere near as bad as the Democrat Party, and if I can do my tiny little part to hold the "e-brake" and keep the car from going over whatever cliff that is, then I will do so. I'm not saying it ain't going over eventually...I'm not saying that I think that the Republican Party "cares" about me...but as someone who considers himself to be a student of history, I'm betting that a collapse of the government in this nation ain't going to be very pretty...a lot of people are going to be hurt, and likely die. I'd rather not have that happen, or push it away as long as possible. The legions couldn't hold the barbarians away from Rome forever, but they still stood their posts as long as they could...

And if you truly believe that, the leftwing press has indeed done their work well. They have you not caring anymore...but guess what, the Obamanation will be rallied to vote for the next hard-core leftwinger they nominate.

Additionally, if you think its easy to fix a national party, then why don't we look at just the politics in THIS state...surely, with all the fine conservatives and libertarians in our state, we could get things running right here in Texas at least. NOPE, we still end up with folks we don't like in charge of things we don't want them in charge of...but it could be worse. Can you imagine if Bill White were Governor? Would that make folks happier, since "they're all just the same"? What if ALL the committees were in Democrat Party hands? Would that make everything better, since "they're all just the same"? These aren't your grandpa's farm-subsidy-help-the-poor-folks Democrats. They don't have any common ground with us regular folks...and a lot of them really don't like your firearms, at all. Not saying there aren't Republicans that are the same way, but we get rid of the Republicans who are no such thing during PRIMARIES. You ain't ever going to get rid of these hard-core leftwinger Democrats if you let them into office...they give monetary handouts to their voters.

And back to the national stage, we did manage to send Ted Cruz to Washington to be our Senator...are you really going to say that there is no difference between Ted Cruz and Chuck Schumer?

Texas better be on its guard , the GOP is in decline due to it's weakness in standing up against the Marxist onslaught. The following is going on in NC, you can see how the left is working and also know they are working in same fashion to turn Texas blue ready for 2016 and Hillary.

http://www.redstate.com/2013/02/22/blue ... publicans/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also check out the links and comments .

The left has been working on this since the 60's and their tentacles are everywhere; Forewarned is forearmed to their tactics. :txflag:

PS: Well worth taking the time to read this Forbes article on the GOP and its decline.

Remember ,Texas would be the jewel in the crown for the anti gun Marxists

It would be an open question which of them would be more insulted to be seen as the same, too. I spotted Schumer as the most dangerous man in America decades ago, and not just because he looks like an accountant for the Mob.

Obama is going to be disappointed if he thinks he will rely on Tom Coburn. Say what you want about our Okie friends to the north but I think Obama did not win a single county in either election. Those Senators will having nothing to do with him for that reason alone.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.
