This comes from Florida. Picking pieces of brass out of her skin on the way to the hospital. Room mate does not know why she stored the guns magazine in the oven. However not a crime so woman was not arrested.

Not the sharpest tool in the shed. I wonder what she hides in the ashes of the fireplace.

Actually, the article says the roommate (male) hid the mag in the oven, not the lady. Says Mr. Sandy was not charged. I can't think for the life of me why he'd put the mag in the oven.....very odd.

Howabout shooting off fireworks inside city limits without a permit?

They will probably end up suing the ammo maker because there was no warning about putting it in the oven and then we end up with a warning on the ammo box to not store it in the oven. :banghead:

It sounds like it might be quick place to stash something valuable if you worried about it being stolen.

Usually they have a deputy from the Sheriff's department show up and talk. As it turns out, the deputy was ill so Sheriff Ray Nutt (Henderson county) attended. At the end of the meeting, my wife said that she wanted to pass along my public service announcement. I guess the Sheriff looked at her and said "somebody really did that?".
That's a sure fire way to get a bang out of baking.

Folks have done worse than what happened in this incident and put the whole loaded gun in the oven. NYPD recorded some of these events in their annual firearms discharge reports back in the 90's.

When the oven was subsequently turned on and the round in the chamber cooked off, it discharged at full velocity. In some cases, the gun cycled successfully and subsequent rounds were discharged as well when they cooked off until the slide stopped going into battery.

That makes you wonder how loosely someone has to hold a gun to limp wrist it.

:headscratch

I know I'm not the best cook....but I thought the oven was used for cooking food....like meat....(I mean we are in Texas so here it's meat anyway)...I try to avoid lead in my oven, you know lead poisoning and all that???

I was going to ask what the guy was thinking, but clearly he wasn't.....
