Another DOA bill in work...

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

Another DOA bill in work...

#1

Post by stevie_d_64 »

I heard from my Dad, and I am still trying to confirm this...

A Federal bill was filed, or is in work, I do not know the exact status as yet, that would require those of us that own "Assault Rifles" :mad5 , to purchase a 1 million dollar liability insurance policy in case that rifle is used in a crime...

I just thought I would throw this out ther and see if anyone can beat me to the source, the Congressman who filed it or sponsored it, already knowing it will be dead on arrival anyway...

Illustrates that they are NOT going away, and they are NOT going to stop trying to "price us out of this unalienable right to keep and bear arms...

Besides...My "Personal Defence Weapons" ARE my insurance in the first place...

More to follow if I find it...If anyone else does, please feel free to post it...

Regards...

Something I don't get. When a poll tax was imposed, it was ruled unconstitutional because it infringed on minorities right to vote. Any of these bills that impose a fee by the government (including universal background checks) amount to the same thing as a poll tax. It's just imposing a fee on excersizing a constitutional right that will disenfranchise the poor.

Why do we hear nothing but the sound of crickets coming from the ACLU? <insert sarcasm smiley>

Gracias!!! Whew...I thought we might have a problem here...Already notified Dad to the details...Needless to say he stated that he unabashed, does not want to see a single NY state resident moving to Texas because of this nonsense...THEY are responsible for this mess and they need to stay and fight it out...They made this bed and now they have to lay in it!!!

They need to fix this...
Bill S2353 will require all gun owners in NY to obtain and “continuously maintain” insurance coverage of at least $1 million, or they will suffer “immediate revocation of such owner’s registration, license and any other privilege :mad5 to own” a firearm.

If the citizen fails to obtain the insurance, then by simply owning the firearm, they will be in violation of the law.

It is estimated that the required $1 million liability policy would cost a holder $1600-2000 annually.
Carry on Texans!!!

I would like to see a specimen policy which they want gun owners to purchase.
