Didn't see a single quote attributed to a republican in that article. Much more worried about background checks passing than I am limits on mags.

Yep, sounds like some more propaganda type stuff. Though I LOVED the following paragraph:
Evidence suggests that a ban on magazine size would indeed reduce the number of those killed in mass shootings, largely because of the difficulty in changing clips, particularly among amateur gun users.
We all know it takes VERY little time to change a magazine, and with only a little practice, a person can get pretty fast at it. And the FACT, that during the Columbine shootings, the dude used a bag full of 10-round magazines. "Evidence"...in their own addled (and politically motivated) minds, maybe.

Changing "clips" might indeed take a while for amateur shooters. Now changing magazines.....that is where they can excel with a little practice.....

I saw a YouTube video where a guy fired six shots, reloaded, and fired six more. All in just under 3 seconds.

Oh, did I mention he was using a REVOLVER?

By the way, if he could keep that up, that's 240 rounds per minute.

If the 2nd Amendment provides a "loop-hole" for the government to regulate the QUANTITY of rounds of ammo available for use in a firearm (a magazine capacity limit), then such a "loop-hole" could logically be exploited to require all firearms to be UNLOADED .

This WHY a magazine limit is unconstitutional.

There are already PRACTICAL magazine limits. For example when firing an AR-15 at the range I don't use a 30 round magazine .

On the other hand if I'm defending my property from looters - I'd use TWO 30 round mags taped together.

Let's make the job of the SCOTUS a lot easier - replace the 9,000 plus gun laws with only ONE.
Simply enact a federal law establishing the offense of criminal use of a firearm. WHAA.... There ALREADY is such a law ???? :anamatedbanana
