Move On .org

#1

Post by jimlongley »

Somewhere along the way I became a member of MoveOn.org, and just, at their invitation, started this pettition:

Subject: Constitutional Carry

Hi,

The presence of an armed citizen has proved, many times, to prevent or at least reduce the number of injuries due to violent crime. It's time for Texas to join Vermont, Alaska, Wyoming, and Arizona in implementing full recognition of our Constitutional right to bear arms without having to get permission, in the form of a license, from the state.

That's why I created a petition to The Texas State House, The Texas State Senate, and Governor Rick Perry, which says:

"We, the citizens of the State of Texas, as well as guests and visitors to our state, hereby request that our legislature implement full "Constitutional Carry" of firearms by law abiding citizens."

Will you sign this petition? Click here:

Thanks!

Not only that, but they capture your email address and other identifiers. I'm not giving them anything. If you WANT to comment on policy items, check out https://www.popvox.com/. Respondents seem to be heavily toward the conservative/libertarian side, but not because of the content. That's just the way people are voting in response to the bills that are posted because they are better informed than liberals.......either that, or liberals are waking up and smelling the coffee when they actually read what the bill is about.

Nothing unknowing about it, I answered an email from a (former) friend who sent me some of moveon's propoganda, and in the process got on moveon's mailing list. I keep separate emails and in some cases even addresses and telephone numbers for situations like this, and that's the info they have, and when they invited me to the new site to make my own pettition, I couldn't resist. of course it needs lots of signatures and so far it only has two, so I don't know if my point is getting across.

No worry. Debate is not something they go for over there. My ID was deleted after a few posts.
I'm sure you are on a short list.

Darn skippy that stuff ought to be ban. You know our lakes, rivers and ponds are filled up with that stuff.

Search for the Penn and Teller bit that they did on it.
