This psycho had no "special" police or military training. He was a Lieutenant in the Navy Reserve in a support group that tended to ships in port. His police training was just the basics required to graduate the police academy. He had no special weapons training to speak of, and if he has a pilot's license, it is civilian one. Where all this Rambo stuff is coming from is beyond me.
I think the LAPD is pumping this guy up to eventually make themselves look more awesome when they take him down and Beiruty was either making fun of that or just plain calling them out by pointing out that if he was so Ramboish why weren't any of the federal agencies courting him. But, I could be wrong.
Yep, the media is conflicting and the Navy is not releasing any info. If he was top caliber stuff, he would not be in Reserve, he would be highly paid with Feds money.
Some smelly stink is brewing. LAPD would be looked at like clowns when body bag count is double digit.

Now I do not agree with this fellow at all, but lets all look at this from a tactical perspective. For the education of us all. This is one man, with a vendetta that he wrote down and that everyone knows who is on the target list. Now in a tyranny situation gun confiscation multiply that one man times ten, now times 100 (minimum) in every state. Let the gun grabbers consider that. He is one man royally angered. Now what happens when you have thousands (or more) righteously angered? Not pretty.

Authorities responded to the location and gave chase Tuesday when Dorner fled in a stolen car. Gunfire was exchanged.
the relevant frequencies have been taken offline for officer safety
Not true. There is a lot of "relevant" radio traffic directly from the scene. They only a few moments ago, broadcasted net wide to stop broadcasting the SwAT team members location over the air.

The Scanner Feed said " 8-MTN-1, 8-MTN-2 have been taken off the scanner to ensure officer safety during the manhunt."

My apologies. I must have been buffered behind real time and hadn't seen that update until the feed went down and I refreshed it.
Funny because prior to taking those two down, there were 38,000 plus listeners!
SWAT teams work off secure channels and only certain people will have access to that channel even within the agency. Routine patrol will still be yacking away.
I am hoping the 2 latest wounded officers are ok.
Damn now news says 2 more injured...
Time to call in an air strike! I guess they could call NObama and borrow a drone.

Heard something about possible hostages. Might want to hold off on the drones.
