Let's see...
DMV - Check

I predict that eventually the U.S. is well on its way to a Great Britain style healthcare system , because private health insurance companies will go out of business.
Thank you Obama.
Thats the end game!

http://www.latimes.com/health/la-me-doc ... 9396.story [California] State lacks doctors to meet demand of national healthcare law Lawmakers are working on proposals that would enable physician assistants, nurse practitioners, optometrists and pharmacists to diagnose, treat and manage some illnesses.

SACRAMENTO — As the state moves to expand healthcare coverage to millions of Californians under President Obama's healthcare law, it faces a major obstacle: There aren't enough doctors to treat a crush of newly insured patients.
Some lawmakers want to fill the gap by redefining who can provide healthcare.
They are working on proposals that would allow physician assistants to treat more patients and nurse practitioners to set up independent practices. Pharmacists and optometrists could act as primary care providers, diagnosing and managing some chronic illnesses, such as diabetes and high-blood pressure.
"We're going to be mandating that every single person in this state have insurance," said state Sen. Ed Hernandez (D-West Covina), chairman of the Senate Health Committee and leader of the effort to expand professional boundaries. "What good is it if they are going to have a health insurance card but no access to doctors?"
They waited until NOW to figure that out? You have to be plumb stupid to be a liberal.

The company I work for pays for the employee's portion of our Insurance. The employee picks up the difference between what the company pays and the cost of adding a spouse or full family.
Our insurance went up 25% this month. We have a high deductable plan, but after the deductable is met it pays !00% in network. And still, the cost per month is quite high.
I work for a very generous company that pays profit sharing bonuses. The minimum amount needed to be made monthly before they pay bonuses went up this month. In no small part because of the increased cost of insurance. So, not only do I pay more for the family portion thanks to Obamacare, but my bonus every month will be quite a bit lower.
Just as the Carnival Cruise Line is beginning to experience the inevitable expiration of the functional service life of their massive, overloaded ships,
the United States of America is now experiencing a similar reality with its no longer seaworthy ship of state.
Given sufficient notice that a ship is no longer seaworthy, passengers on board should proceed directly to any available lifeboats, and future reservations should not be booked.
The principle is transferable to the present condition of the U.S ship of state.
Witness the state of mind of the present " crew ".
In addition to the current "Captain's" credentials not being quite in order, and being absent from the bridge due to extended speaking engagements for the last 4 + years and counting -he now seeks to turn operation of the ship over to a rather specious crew seemingly bent upon running the vessle aground.
Now......let's consider what options remain for the passsengers of this vessle ?
Only 3 options appear to present - remain with the ship, abandon the ship, or mutiny and endeavor to take over control of the ship.
The only passengers willing to stand alongside the present crew and risk going down with this ship are those who support the current Captain's maniacal visions, and have no choice but to rely upon his promised intention to grant them their fair share of the passenger's combined wealth after the inevitible grounding on the rocks.
The rest of the passengers need to recognize that their destiny is SEPARATE from this doomed ship of fools.
The United States of America ( no longer numbering 50 ) must UNITE in the now necessary common-cause task of re-establishing the Constitutional Republic provided for in the U.S. Constitution.
The very survival of this Republic has never before been so threatened as it is at this present juncture.
And all of this is one big reason for the incredibly aggressive push to disarm America. And the quiet but staggering growth of armament by Homeland Security. The reduction of our military and the push to remove the gun rights of soldiers after they return home. The staggering growth of systems that watch and record citizen movements and behaviors online, by phone, by text, and simply driving about town. I doubt it is just for terrorism. Healthcare could have been improved by expanding our system of county hospitals, but like everything else it does, the government saw an opportunity to gain more power and took it. But the more power you exert over individual lives, the more you fear the resentment it causes. I hope some sense comes to this and voters realize the democratic party is not leading the nation to a better place.

The costs for our Group Policy will go up by 22% starting April 1st. (Our Plan year is April-March.) This does not include a $5 PCP, $10 Specialist, and $10 ER co-pay increase. Oh, and our deductible has risen from $3,500.00 per person to $5,000.00. This means my wife and I are on the hook for the first $10K. ($7,500 per person if out of network or $15K for both of us.) There is not cap on out of pocket expenses and we are responsible for 30% in-network and 40% out of network. In order to qualify for the low cost premiums, Texas SB80 requires we pay 100% of the premium cost for all of our employees. We have found that we can no longer employ any one other than ourselves. We sub some of our projects out, but must limit that use so that they cannot be classified as employees. Our prescription drug deductible remained the same but our co-pay went up on everything except generics. This puts us on the hook for about $30K a year should we both need to spend anytime in the hospital in the same year. We are in the process of insurance shopping and may opt to use personal policies rather than our current group policy. We opted for the group insurance a few years ago because at that time, groups could not exclude anyone for preexisting conditions. The Affordable Healthcare Scam is really hitting us hard!

Just curious, but are they delaying or canceling bonuses/raises? That's what my BIL's company did.
My company had bonuses and raises. I am blessed beyond what I deserve. Our small business is staying afloat. We are in the software industry catering to a specific market of other small businesses.
My wife on the other hand, working for the school districts has had no pay raises in 2.5 years and her insurance has gone up, and her Bi-Lingual stipend has been reduced.

This is exactly what the Catholic church and related entities are irritated about. Giving you something free with the left hand while taking more money away with the right hand does not make that thing "free". Things don't get paid out of thin air, there is no free lunch, you are paying for the "free" birth control . . . and you know it.
I've been self employed for 30 years, and totally responsible for everything my family needs. I can't even see a chance for a retirement in my future any longer (and I'm a few months short of 60 now). My BC/bull insurance (heavy of the bull part) has gone up twice in the last 8-10 months and expected to go up much more in the next few months. Just trying to contact my doc (had to get into the silly hospital group thing) for a refresh on a bp med script takes 3-4 days...then get a notice that I have to make an "appointment" before the powers that be will allow a refill. When medical insurance eats up 15% of your net income, something is just flat wrong.
If things get to the "really bad stage", we may see a few good doctors move "off the grid"...hopefully.
It's not gun control that we need, it's soul control!

My income is ~ 2/3 what it was five years ago. It's been a long while since I saved any $$.
