We're on my wife's insurance. We went from ~$400/mo to ~$600/mo back in October. No change to our benefits, deductible, or co-pay.

Let me see if I've got this right.

The same people who have made the Post Office so successful are NOW in charge of healthcare ???????

Increasingly healthcare providers are attempting to collect "patient responsibility" charges that do not legally exist in additition to Medicare part B reimbursement.

When I confront them with this fact they either cease & desist - or say that they can no longer provide such services if they must operate at a loss.

It is a sad commentary. The healthcare system is really screwed up now.

I predict that eventually the U.S. is well on its way to a Great Britain style healthcare system , because private health insurance companies will go out of business.

Thank you Obama.

I try to avoid conspiracy theories. However, this system we have now is designed to fail. This is the last step to a government ran single payer system.

I can hardly wait to sign up for Medicare in a couple of months.
I've had my Medicare card for 6 months now. As long as you're still covered by your employer's insurance, Medicare is irrelevant.
We're on my wife's retiree insurance. We both retired from the same employer, but she left after me so we just used her's while she was employed and then switched to retiree for her since I go on Medicare 7 years ahead of her. I am trying to get info about what if any change will occur when I go on Medicare, but the third party that handles benefits is anything but helpful.

Pretty close to what happened to my company. It would have been a 70% increase. We had to go to a 3000 dollar deductible with a 6000.00 family max. When that piece of garbage took office, I was able to provide a 1000.00 deductible with a 2000 dollar family max.

Our office visit co-pay was 20 dollars. Prescriptions were 10. That has gone to 30 and 15. While the premiums increased 40%. Nice job odumbell!

:iagree: The predictions are that 2014 will see a much more rapid rise in healthcare premiums. There are still many provisions of Obamacare which just kicking in, mostly due to the newly written regulations that were called for in the original bill.

Fasten your seatbelt. It is going to get really bumpy. Healthcare is already my biggest budget item and the percentage of my income that it takes in the future will be double. I just pray that I don't get sick.

Here's a clip from the email sent to all employees of my company. We're a small team, and our boss is a pretty good guy, so he absorbed some of this, but the trend shown by the previous posters continues:
Our health insurance rates for 2013 skyrocketed more than 47% compared to our 2012 rates. (Company Name) is covering most of the increase but there is about a 15-16% increase of the 2012 employee cost being passed on for 2013.
Your best option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.
When those fail, aim for center mass.

We are paying more and the new laws lowered how much money we could put into the flex account to cover the difference. The new taxes taken out of the paycheck amounts to $3K a year too. And we aren't making enough to be in the middle class. So much for not burdening the average joe. Obama recently announced the government needs more taxes. We have ditched the idea of retirement.

Of course not. I'm in the Healthcare business; this was designed to kill private insurance and drive everyone into the arms of big daddy Obama (the Government). Once it's there, no options will ever come back. Welcome to your worst European nightmare. Just another rattling last breath of America and our liberty. Oh, by the way, Congress doesn't care; they are covered by their own healthcare plan for life, and it puts so called "Cadillac plans" to shame.....

I went ton medicare a couple of years ago. My otherwise exemplary healthcare plan dropped me two months before I was even eligible for medicare, and then picked me right back up (with automatic withdrawal still in place) as the supplementary carrier (part c), so my insurance costs went up.

my wife's birth control is now free, but her rates went up. My rates stayed the same but thats because my employeer decided to absorb any extra costs from this for the time being.

Just curious, but are they delaying or canceling bonuses/raises? That's what my BIL's company did.

I cannot afford health insurance, but I earn just enough too much and have too much in personal assets (own home free and clear, etc.) to be on the public dole......a thought which offends my sensibilities anyway, so I would avoid it as long as possible. Consequently, beginning with the 2013 tax year, I get the "privilege" of paying an oppressive and unjust fine to the bloody IRS—which moneys will be used to buy health insurance for other people.

Consequently, I try avoid any more discussions of Obamacare because it drives my blood pressure up, putting my health at risk..........and I long for the day when every single politician who voted for it and Obama all choke on a chicken bone. I long for the day when government officials are by constitutional requirement made subject to the very same mashups they foist off on the rest of us, in the name of "doing something."

More than any single other thing this oppressive government has ever done, Obamacare was the straw that broke the camel's back and convinced me that this government is my enemy. It is the single most unjust piece of legislation passed since Jim Crow was abolished, and the absolute flippin' morons who voted for it, and those who gleefully trumpet its "benefits" are no less immoral than the most venal slave owner and overseer.

I want to make it very clear that I am not in favor of any armed uprising against this government........at this point.......but it is my fervent belief that if such a thing ever comes to pass, when future historians forensically examine its causes OBAMACARE will be judged to be one of the final injustices that pushed The People over the edge.

THAT is what I think of this travesty of injustice, oppressive government, and morally bankrupt ideology.

Was that clear enough?
