You're not going to believe this

This comes from an active duty Army officer who is intimately familiar with the shooting in Ft. Hood from a unique perspective as a medical professional. That's all I feel at liberty to say about him, but I can personally vouch for the fact that he knows what he is talking about and is as trustworthy as any person I've ever known.
The Manchurian Candidate has decided to award the adult victims of the Sandy Hook massacre the Presidential Medal.

Very nice, but that is usually not awarded to shooting victims.

In the meantime, he has:

(1) called the Ft Hood terror attack "workplace violence" and refuses to call it by the correct name of jihadist terrorism

(2) denied the dead and victims any access to combat pay or combat recognition

(3) impeded for years the release of government documents needed for this case, and has obstructed justice

(4) shown no further interest in Ft Hood since he got his photo ops here

(5) has cut all TDY money and issued official policy letters instructing Soldiers and Army civilians who are traveling on business to mooch off their relatives or hang out overnight in bus shelters or city parks (this is NOT a joke)

(6) Just cut $18 million from Soldier, TBI, and and PTSD medical center care at Ft. Hood.

Yes, they love the troops

Here's a news article that confirms the awarding of the medals: http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?secti ... id=8982341" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
A quick Google search reveals several similar articles. Frankly, this is outrageous. Certainly those teachers are to be commended, but their sacrifice is nowhere the standard for a Presidential Medal. Obama is just using this as a way to get more air time and make the killings seem even more dramatic. (Then again, he was given a Nobel Prize he didn't deserve, so maybe he's just paying it forward. Yeah, right...) I can think of plenty of people whose actions had far greater impact but were never awarded a Presidential Medal - for example Todd Beamer and the other passengers on Flight 93.

NOTHING that his corrupt, immoral working-to-be dictator does would surprise me in the least. What's killing me is that he keeps getting away with it. HE has the "audacity of hope", and the audacity and power to humiliate anyone who oposes him. Quite sure his theme song is at the top of his ipod play list. Sing along with me now; "Please allow me to introduce myself, I'm a man of wealth and taste. Been around for a long long year, stole many a man's soul and faith. Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name. But what's troubling you is the nature of my game"..... :reddevil

It hurts me to not admit what the Ft Hood shooting really was. I don't know who you are referring to but if you PMed me I probably know them. I worked there during this time (was down the road working at another site when it occured randomly). I got to go in most of the buildings afterwards (wouldn't say I wanted to). It was pretty ugly.

a very close friend was a SSgt. MP at hood.. I called him as soon as I got word on it... like 15min after the story broke. he was quite busy still sorting details....... he called me later that night....

as for the medal of freedom going to the 6 adults in the shoot at the school.. who.. from accounts, made a aggressive stance at the shooter... yeah... they did a heroic thing... I see no dishonor in presenting them a posthumous medal for gallantry..

And folks, call it what you will.. place ones self in harms way to protect another with out a chance of survival.. is very gallant in deed and deserving of that selfless recognition.

I'm surprised you were able to call him. Phones were all but nonfunctional. I think I made calls in the time afterwards. I still am not sure if there was just so much traffic that it disabled the phones or there were blackouts instituted (would not have been surprised)I. did not get home until 9someting that night. Most places on base wouldn't let people leave until it was cleared and gates were closed. Took HOURS to get off base, TONS of soldiers searching all cars leaving.

My daughter in law was stuck in lock down until late that night. She was at the AaFES PX. All we were able to get from her that day was a few texts. We didnt hear from her husband until the next day. He is with the 69th ADA.
