I was wondering if any one had experience with the Uncle Mikes slimline level III duty holster.
I am on a very tight budget and can't afford to spend over $70 or $80 on a duty holster right now. My new company wants me to wear leather duty gear witch broke my bank and I still need a holster. I carry a S&W sigma witch is similar to a glock 17 in size and appearance but will not fit a hard sided holster for the 17. Uncle Mikes makes a fairly convincing looking and adjustable looking holster for around $65 with a retaining screw and a thumb break strap that I can afford and I think will work. I dont want to mess up like my dad did when he bought an IWB from Uncle Mikes that looked and functioned more like a glasses case than a decent IWB holster.
I know they typically don't make the best stuff but I am in a bind and don't have many options. I will start working in about three or four weeks when the state approves my paperwork so I have some time to shop around and it's only temporary but some opinions would be helpful.

Back when I was a cop I used a Pro 3 for a while and it was a good holster so I would think the slimline would be fine.
There's a Pro 3 on ebay right now for $30.

If you do a lot of sitting in a car its not the best. It's kind of thick. I wore one for about a year and a half. I'm a huge fan of safariland. When I wasn't required to wear an 070, my go to was a model 2. You should be able to find a used holster for a decent price.

I am planning on trading up from the S&W to a glock 17 soon but need a temporary holster until my money tree sprouts then its glock and safariland all the way. Until then I really appreciate you guys input all the reviews I could find online are sponsored by Uncle Mike so I didn't know if they where reliable or just sales pitches. I don't think there will be much siting involved at this post because I will be working solo patrolling a large medical building, so that should not be an issue I just want a holster with good retention that will stay put for hours of walking around.
