I wouldn't think of it as that. The Remington hats I have the first is brown waxed cotton and the R and writing is brown. The other is camo but is so dirty from when I used to survey that you'd have to be next to me to read it. As far as living in north Idaho and when I was living in East Texas a camo hat never receives a second look.

Since my job is was and is undergoing repair and or construction i can say this about gun advertisment shirts and hats. We had approx 50 construction workers in my job everyone from equipment repairmen to electricians. I bet at least half wore some kind of camo or gun manufactor logo. One even had a rock river hoodie. So I came to the conclusion that in this state at least it isnt a matter of what someone is wearing but how they are acting really. Only one of the construction guys behaved in a manner to where i thought he might be packing. The gun culture is so big in texas that people put the browning logo on their trucks and dont even know what is really. People wear camo and dont hunt nor have ever been hunting. If you go by clothing alone then heck half of everyone you see would be presumably packing. But we all know that isnt the case.

Most of the general public fail to associate vests, logo hats, and shirts with concealed carry. The only people "looking" and who matter are your fellow CHLs, Law Enforcement, and the BAD GUY. And, it's the BG who gonna shoot me first if I'm dumb enough to advertise.

Just for fun, I'm gonna paste an NRA sticker on my plain cap, don a vest and strap on a fanny pack for next my Wally walk just to see if I get any odd stares.

Agreed. I carried in a fanny pack for years in Oklahoma. Other than looks of pity from the ladies, I never noticed many glances in my direction.

I have always put my NRA stickers on my truck, I never leave guns in my vehicle so I don't worry about a break in. Normally I don't wear clothing with logos, but recently I have begun to wear my NRA logo shirts and caps as often as practical. I want people to see that normal, everyday guys and gals belong to the NRA and not the heartless fanatics that the media portrays. I dress professionally at work and at church, and the rest of the time I am sporting NRA somewhere.

My daughter wanted the pink Browning logo/air freshner for her car... She thinks I shouldn't have a Browning logo decal on my Explorer because I got a Weatherby and not a Browning...

A couple of weeks ago at lunch, I was wearing a new dark blue Hoodie jacket with "Ruger" beautifully embroidered on it. As I was leaving the restaurant, I bumped into our local Chief of Police, with whom I am good friends. Rather loudly, he asked, "So what Ruger are you carrying today?" Surprised, I choked out, "An SR1911!" So much for "remaining concealed." LOL! [At least he didn't ask to see my CHL or disarm me.....]

We first met when I completed the local Citizen's Police Academy last year, so I think he was actually just enjoying giving me a hard time. During the past year, I have been involved in various fundraising activities to support our local police officers.

He was wearing a suit and tie rather than his "Polyester" Uniform and I noticed he was definitely carrying in a rather obvious leather notebook-type pistol case. I am sure it was his standard issue Glock .40.

I wear my "gun" shirts to lunch just to irritate my liberal anti-gun lunch buddies. My NRA Life Member shirt really drives them nuts!!! They are so afraid someone is going to see them associating with one of those "right-wing gun nuts!"

While driving through La recently, I had a conversation with a trooper about concealed carry. He opened the conversation thus "I see you are wearing a shoot me first vest, it's very stylish!" Has the "photograpers vest" become like the ill named "fanny pack" as a concealed carry identifier?

It's been like that for me for several years. Whenever I see somebody wearing one I figure they're carrying. It just seem out of place and stands out a little more than regular clothes.
