I know that there were some that had misgivings about Ted Cruz. But I don't see other Texas politicians standing up for the 2nd Amendment like this. I've felt for some time that it was wrong to allow the statements of people like Emanuel to go unchallenged. Apparently, Senator Cruz agrees.

I think if a dozen more Senators would somehow develop the xxxx to write similar letters, Emanuel and his ilk would find the going for their agenda a lot harder.

Way to go, Senator Cruz!

The good news is that Ted Cruz was born under similar circumstances to Nobama. His father was an immigrant, and his mother American. He is an American citizen by birth because of his mother's citizenship. If Barry Sotero is eligible for the presidency, then so is Ted Cruz.

....not to mention that he is a HECK of a lot more experienced legal and constitutional law scholar than Barry ever was.
Cruz also served as a law clerk to William Rehnquist, Chief Justice of the United States, and J. Michael Luttig of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.[15] Cruz was the first Hispanic ever to clerk for a Chief Justice of the United States.[16]

Cruz has authored more than 80 briefs before the United States Supreme Court and presented 43 oral arguments, including nine before the United States Supreme Court.

In the landmark case of District of Columbia v. Heller, Cruz assembled a coalition of thirty-one states in defense of the principle that the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms.[17] Cruz also presented oral argument for the amici states in the companion case to Heller before the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
In addition to his victory in Heller, Cruz has successfully defended the Ten Commandments monument on the Texas State Capitol grounds, the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools and the 2003 Texas redistricting plan.[18]

Cruz also successfully defended, in Medellin v. Texas, the State of Texas against an attempt by the International Court of Justice to re-open the criminal convictions of 51 murderers on death row throughout the United States.[19]

I like the fact that he didn't actually address the letter to Rahm Emanuel.

Rahm was only a footnote or P.S.

Ted Cruz went to the businesses that create, maintain and fill jobs with Americans.

Take that Rahm.

It is nice to see some proactive efforts by the good guys finally, it seemed all too quiet for a while, but respectfully so as to not take advantage of recent events. I hope more people see the respect and sound reasoning these guys are making and we can make some head way here. Maybe we need to not only be contacting public officials but big business that deals with firearms. One or two of them making a stance would really help the effort, even more efforts like Rugers easy contact form could help.

The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.-Thomas Jefferson

I believe times like this will bring people out to fight that are usually quiet. I'm very thankful to live in this very great state of Texas.
