MI: Incredible crime spree ends in suicide by cop

In Michigan earlier this month a man with a lengthy criminal history went on a one-man crime spree that included kidnapping, rape, arson, crashing into three police cars, and theft of a motor vehicle. Ultimately he was shot by a police officer in a violent encounter.

The victim of the kidnapping and rape sought help at a house where a teenager hid her, while the criminal tried to set the house on fire.

Oh, and his mother said he was misunderstood.

If this was a movie, I would say it was unbelievable.

I guess I am jaded, but I found the most remarkable thing about that story was not all the mayhem (was quite a string of events, tho) but that he posted to FB that he was about the get shot just before he got shot. How...warped.

I don't "do" Facebook, but it seems like quite an obsession with some people.

I read an unrelated story a few days ago where a teenage girl drove the breadth of the state of Indiana to have a physical fight with a girl who had been harassing her on Facebook.

I also recall a couple years ago when some guy tweeted that his home had been invaded by thugs...WHILE it was being invaded. He was in his bedroom with pistol in one hand and Blackberry in the other. He somehow managed to call the cops between tweets...
