It's Time

It is now time to write your representatives in Congress regarding the AWB that DiFi proposed today.

The best way I've found is through this link. It will email all your Representatives and Senators at once, and can print out your letter for you to mail if that's what you prefer.

We cannot be complacent on this. This is the time to act. Don't assume it won't pass the House - we've seen the level of intestinal fortitude of our RINOs recently, and I am not confident they will stand up to this without massive public pressure.

I'm sending to my rep and senators every week. I'm thinking I am going to both send an email and call weekly.

President Obama:

Today, Senator Dianne Feinstein, introduced a Senate bill that unequivocally infringe on our constitutional right to own and bare arms, the 2nd Amendment.
I am deeply concerned and devastated to hear about her draconian bill banning virtually all modern weapons that are lawfully own, to protect, to defend, and preserve innocent life of US citizens. In addition, to lawful use of competitive shooting sports that would be denied access to said modern firearms.
I do sincerely ask you to uphold the oath of Federal Office, to protect and preserve the constitution of USA.
Sincerely,
Beiruty,

I used the link you provided to send this (to all):

No more phony compromise with those who seek to take away our 2nd Amendment rights. It's not "compromise" when gun owners are saddled with just one or two out of many attempted infringements. Real compromise starts this time with the anti-gun crowd giving something up. For instance, silencers are legal in the UK --the country the gun grabbers seem to think is a liberal utopia-- and many other countries in Europe. Legalize silencers without restrictions as they are in Europe and New Zealand, then we'll talk about "compromise." NO MORE PHONY "COMPROMISE."

I am a former military officer and I find the latest attempts by liberal politicians to criminalize ownership of weapons that I have used legally for over 40 years both insulting and despicable. Their exploitation of children and emotion is a sickening display of the same tactics used by every tyrant in the 20th Century.

As my representative I expect you to draw a line in the sand: no more 2nd Amendment infringement. No magazine ban. No magazine capacity limits. No more misrepresentation of weapons legally owned by citizens for over 50 years as "assault weapons." No "AWB." No limitation on ammunition sales. And NO REGISTRATION of firearms held by law abiding citizens. Registration is a prelude to confiscation. Confiscation is a prelude to tyranny.

For too long gun owners have allowed the left to slowly strip us of our rights under the mantra of phony compromise. I am fortunate to live in a State with reasonable gun laws. The Federal government has no business telling Texans what kind of guns we can own. No more PHONY compromise.

These assaults on the Constitution need to be stopped in their tracks. NO MORE INFRINGEMENT.

Senator Cornyn, please step up and defend our rights publicly as Senator Cruz has. Gun owners want representatives to fight for our rights, not remain silent in this combined progandistic assault by left-wing politicians and their mainstream media supporters. No less than the US Attorney General has stated that it is the intention of the left to demonize and stigmatize gun owners and gun ownership. This despicable attack on our character and our rights must not be tolerated. The lies perpetrated by those assaulting our rights and their allies in the media must not be tolerated.

The 2nd Amendment is not about "hunting." Any politician who mentions hunting in conjunction with the 2nd Amendment is deliberately misrepresenting a fundamental human right recognized, NOT granted, in our Constitution. Polls indicate that 65% of the American people understand the purpose of the 2nd Amendment. The misrepresentations of the left and their media allies must be countered by all elected officials who have sworn an oath to uphold the Constitution.

I am not in the habit of contacting public officials. Many of my fellow gun owners will not contact you because they are afraid of the ever burgeoning surveillance State, the unrelenting assault on the 4th Amendment, and the unrelenting assaults on the character of military Veterans and others of us who believe in our Constitutional Republic and the limited government envisioned by our Founders. I'm putting aside my own fears to contact you because this issue is THE slippery slope.

New York citizens are now one small step closer to confiscation, which people like Senator Feinstein and Governor Cuomo have made clear is the ultimate goal of "gun control." Please don't allow my country to go the way of New York. Rather, send it the way of Wyoming and Texas. Preserve our heritage and at least preserve what remains of our liberty.

sent to rep, both senators, and the big O for good measure:

Dear XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:

I rise to oppose Senator Feinstein's new assault weapons bill, and to ask you to use all the resources at your disposal to defeat this proposal.

Simply put, this bill will not prevent another tragedy. It will not keep criminals from performing evil acts. It will not help this country. What it will do is to infringe on the Constitutional rights of law-abiding Americans who own modern sporting rifles like the AR-15. With millions of such rifles in the hands of Americans today, only a handful of these weapons have ever been misused to criminal ends. While Senator Feinstein may have honorable intentions, this legislation is contrary to the needs of the country.

As a voter, I will be watching your efforts on this matter closely, and it will make a critical difference in who I support in the coming years with my votes, with my campaign donations, and with my support. I hope that you will validate the trust that I and your other constituents have placed in you, and use all the powers entrusted to you to defeat this bill.

Sincerely,
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I hit them all up. I just used the pre-filled out form letter that was provided. All they'll do is record an against & then send a form letter. No points will be awarded for creativity.

Sent this morning to both senators and my house representative:

"Progressive" politicians are now shamelessly exploiting the raw emotions stirred by recent tragedies to mount an all out assault on our God given and constitutionally enshrined second amendment freedoms. These men and women flaunt their disregard for both the constitution and their oaths of office, intentionally confuse the ignorant voters among us, and are driving hard to disarm America and make it vulnerable to the whims of any tyrant, current or future.

This is not a time for "compromise", which is simply a code word for abolishing rights one chunk at a time and ends in the same place as abolishing them all at once. It is a time for the small number of remaining patriots of both parties in both houses of congress to stand tall and firm to speak out for the defense of our sacred liberties and make certain that these abominable laws shall not pass.

Failure to defend our freedoms in this time of peril would betray the sacred trust we have placed in our representatives when we elected them to office, and, on this issue, I fear would rend this country asunder in a way that has never happened since the civil war. If this comes to pass, those who brought it about will carry a legacy of unending shame in history as those who finally toppled this great republic from within.

Let me also be clear that anyone who compromises on this issue will never again receive my vote under any circumstances.

I am counting on you to uphold your oath and boldly defend the constitutional bedrock of our country. Please respond and let me know how you intend to meet these critical challenges in the coming days and weeks.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.
