Walmart to stop selling ammo?

OTOH, I bought some 22 LR at a hardware store this weekend and asked the owner, in a slip of the tongue, if he could "order" more. He told me he could order all he wants but he can't get any. So, it's obvious that there are real shortages.

The store I work at tried to reorder some 22LR today. No luck. Our supplier said they currently have none. It may be several weeks before we get our little order. We have people coming in almost daily wanting 22. A month ago we sold maybe 2 boxes a week. A week or so ago one guy came in and bought all we had. And our prices aren't cheap either. Still have 2 boxes of Rem 22 Mag at almost $20 (ea).

Yeah, I paid about 20% more for the 50 and 100 round boxes than I would at Walmart, as much as 50% for a brick, but it was still far less expensive than shooting up my centerfire ammo.

One of the Wal-Marts here still gets ammo in every few days. I just picked up some ammo for my Draco/AK last night. They were limiting people to 6 boxes of ammo per day per person. The lady at the counter said that they are still getting shipments of ammunition in, but not quite as frequently as they used to. Anything they get from their delivery trucks at night is on the shelves by 7:30 the next morning. I was just lucky that they had some 7.62x39 left on the shelf when I went in last night. They were sold out of everything else except shotgun shells.
