Walmart is no different than any other ammo seller in the fact that they have had a run on their supplies and can't get it in fast enough to keep up with the demand. you would be surprised, most retail stores have an inventory system with a base number that are in stock and a threshold for auto replenishment. but a lot of ordering is still do manually to anticipate and keep up with demand. a lot of times your minimum on hand is a lot lower then what you would actually like to have.steveincowtown wrote:In general, Walmart managers do not "order" anything. How many SKU's are in a Walmart? Imagine if someone had to physically input an "order" for each one every week. It would never work!
The store I work at tried to reorder some 22LR today. No luck. Our supplier said they currently have none. It may be several weeks before we get our little order. We have people coming in almost daily wanting 22. A month ago we sold maybe 2 boxes a week. A week or so ago one guy came in and bought all we had. And our prices aren't cheap either. Still have 2 boxes of Rem 22 Mag at almost $20 (ea).VMI77 wrote:

Well, I have to say that I am disappointed in Walmart. I still have not heard an answer back from them.srothstein wrote:well, we will see what happens as they start hearing from their customers. If they respond, I will let you all know. I will also let them know my opinion of what they are doing. I think if they get enough people questioning the policy it will get changed before we get answers saying it is true.
