NY Gun Confiscation Plan - Hush-hush...

#1

Post by txjim42 »

This politician looks like one of my kids when they get caught with their hand in the cookie jar. And I'll leave it at that I have nothing else to add that should be uttered out loud. :mad5

NY Democrat pleads with Republican not to share document proposing confiscation of guns
A New York Assemblyman has pleaded with his Republican colleague not to release a list of Democrat proposals on gun control that seek to undermine the 2nd Amendment

http://www.thecommentator.com/article/2 ... on_of_guns
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... yUbJfg4tAo

The full list of proposals can be read below:

1. Confiscation of "assault weapons"
2. Confiscation o ten round clips
3. Statewide database for ALL Guns
4. Continue to allow pistol permit holder's information to be replaced to the public
5. Label semiautomatic shotguns with more than 5 rounds or pistol grips as "assault weapons”
6. Limit the number of rounds in a magazine to 5 and confiscation and forfeiture of banned magazines
7. Limit possession to no more than two (2) magazines
8. Limit purchase of guns to one gun per person per month
9. Require re-licensing of all pistol permit owners
10. Require renewal of all pistol permits every five years
11. State issued pistol permits
12. Micro-stamping of all guns in New York State
13. Require licensing of all gun ammo dealers
14. Mandatory locking of guns at home
15. Fee for licensing, registering weapons
If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my children will have peace.

Why isn't the mainstream media reporting on this? :banghead:

It's incredibly obvious that there was something to hide. We've got the source for the video (actual video of the session), but there are no citations for "the list." I may very well believe that "the list" could be credible, but I'd not spread links to it without validation as it could be construed by others as a "made up" list.

This was infuriating, but not surprising. There is no science or stats behind 10. There is no science or stats behind the number 7. 30 isn't high capacity compared to 100. 100 isn't high capacity compared to belt fed firearms.

The calls for capacity bans come from two places:
- ignorant well-intentioned praagmatic rationalization, and
- devious, scheming ideological strategy

It's arbitrary. The 7-round law in NY demonstrates that a compromise to 10 would only be valid until the next murderer shows up. The slope gets ever more slippery from there.

The first group may honestly be deceived about the ultimate intentions of the second group. The second group are the driving force behind all of this. Oddly enough, their greed in NY tipped their hand too early.

I'm for the invite to all law abiding New York gun owners to come to Texas and bring their guns with them. It would not take long for the criminals to overrun the state. Yes, I know, it's very very weird for a Texan to want to invite yankees to our fair state, but these are desperate times! Besides, if they own guns and want to keep them bad enough to move, they must be Texans at heart anyway :evil2: :biggrinjester:

There are many 'Fornias and Yorkers and even the odd Illini doing just that! They key is to ensure they leave their Blue libby ideas back home. I point to Colorado as an example, it use to be a nice Cowboy kinda place to live...then all the 'Fornias came and turned it into East Cali!!!

Here is where the data came from - Post on Steve McLaughlin's (State Rep) FB page... (The gentlemen speaking in the video)

https://www.facebook.com/SteveMcNY/post ... 9446748862

If you don't want to click the link, here's the content:
Here it is. This is the video where I was asked to keep the Democrat proposals for the NY SAFE Act away from the public. This list was given to me by a colleague and it is not confidential.

This bill was an attack on the 2nd amendment and the Democrats clearly wanted to dismantle the work of the Founding Fathers. None of these amendments were included in the final bill thanks to us fighting back. I will not stand silent while these unpatriotic proposals are pathetically thrown at us a 11 o’clock at night:

If the NRA is aware of this maybe they can use it in another advertisement some how. Then the MSM will acknowledge it and try to debunk it.

Of course it would "dampen compromise" because they do not intend to compromise in the true sense of the term. Compromise implies that two parties start with their own proposals and then meet in the middle. Obviously the Demoncrats in NY have decided to forego their initial starting points for ones that will make it "easier" to reach a compromise, and save these for the next time they want to compromise.

Now if I could only figure out where I have seen that before . . . :headscratch

:iagree: Put something out there that the MSM and others have to deal with and cannot ignore.

To me, the haste to pass the bill, demonstrated by their failure to exempt LEOS and the underlying theme of confiscation are major points to be placed in the public's eye. The politicians can no longer hide behind "we are just doing it for the children" with those facts to undermine their story.
