Darn, I bought one from you a few months ago and LOVE it, I built a super lightweight AR for my wife (5lbs, 4ozs no sight), I added a DPMS Sportical upper, Primary Micro Red Dot, Primary Quad rail and ALG trigger, it shoots GREAT. I wanted another one to build for me, but now's not the time, maybe never, but I'll keep my eye on things.

Our insanity is in response to the gungrabber's insanity. Nothing the gungrabbers propose meets with any definition of sanity. None of it is based on logic or reason.

Our response is seldom equal to their attacks. If it were we would not be in this predicament.

Dang. There I go again.

Maybe I'm drawing a line where there isn't one, but I draw a distinction between an individual selling something he has for what people are willing to pay and a business buying at normal prices and selling for multiple times what they have into it and multiple times what they would have sold it for the week before.

It's one thing when their prices increase and they pass it along.

They have every right to do it. Their business, their call.

I have every right to call them nasty names, never give them a dime, and steer people away from them for as long as they have their doors open.

Saw this article from Reuters and thought of this thread. Some food for thought before posting online business reviews.

If the price is too high, DON'T buy it. If others have the money, and believe (for whatever reason) it's worth it, they will pay the price. If you bought your house for $100K, and someone offered you $400K, would you take it? Further, even though you only paid $100K for it, if all of the other houses in your neighborhood had burned down and yours was the only one left, what price would you list it for???? So how is this any different than the stock market (Wall Street)? The folks who have stock took some amount of risk with their money to buy it, and now are looking for a reward for that risk. Is the reward they are asking for worth it to you? Your choice.

Do I have any respect for those gouging? No. I actually laughed at the gun show guy who was trying to sell a $20 .308 magazine for $250 and walked away. I need a couple but NOT at that price. The ultimate problem here is our dysfunctional government (with their assorted clueless, elite, liberal supporters) and their desire to disarm the populus (us), not the "price gougers".

I think the difference for me lies in what costs/risks underlie the price.

In your house example, yes, I only paid $100k for the house. But I don't want to sell my house. It may take much more than the value to compensate me for the pain of moving, finding another house, paying a real estate lawyer, etc.

I wouldn't feel bad about selling one of my guns for much more than I paid for it. I don't want to sell it. There is a risk that I won't find another. I took the risk when I bought it that it may eventually be worth less than I paid for it.

Now let's look at roofers after a hurricane. Huge demand. Honest roofers charge a fair price. It may be higher than during normal times, but their costs for materials might be higher because of demand, the may be working crews outside the normal 40 hours and have higher costs due to overtime. All of this is perfectly legit. Roofers from out of state need to be compensated for being away from families, they need to put up in a motel, etc. Again legit.

Same hurricane. A gas station paid $2 a gallon for their gas. They have a contract for their next shipments for $2 a gallon. They charge $4 a gallon normally. There is a rush to the pumps as people fill up to get out of town. They jack the price up to $8 a gallon. That's gouging.

A gun shop selling something they paid $500 for and have orders for more at $500 and normally sell for $750 raising the price to $3,000 when their risks and costs stay the same: gouging.

Just because something is legal doesn't make it ethical.

Wow, I have been somewhat understanding of the $30-50 pmags and cautious to judge a company based on everything going on but this is so beyond ridiculous I am astounded to see it. These are used military issue that have been on sale before for $8.95 and a normal price of $14.95 which these crazy people now feel are worth $129!!!!. I have only bought a few things from their website but I will never shop there again.

Madness. CTD has been blocked from my email.
Looks like Ebay is now no longer allowing mag sales. The BX-25 were selling for over $100 or more when when they pulled the plug on the party...

Here's a unique offer ... http://www.texasguntrader.com/index.php?a=2&b=292685" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I guess gouging depends how much beer he's offering?

maybe it isnt exactly price gouging but if you guys have heard you may want to check out the ruckus that aero precision has caused on facebook. long story short they promised not to raise price on ar 15 lowers from $99, they made one price jump to $150 and posted on FB that they'd have them available to order starting on a certain date. people flooded the site, overloaded the server and from what it sounds like very few where able to order for the $150 price. without any notice and within a short amount of time the price jumped to $200. just seems kinda shady to me.

I have contemplated picking up a gen 2 glock 19 at the normal rate of $350 or so. Haven't seen one lately for less than $1000. I own plenty of guns, so unlike these other freak shows, I'm not about to throw money at something that is simply not worth it.
