"Mailed"
My wife and I submitted ours on the 30th of November and as of the 3rd of January the status says mailed. Anyone have any idea about the day they're mailed each week? Heading to Austin in a few days and would like to carry on me as opposed to just my truck...

Do yall's Application Status still have a little warning next to it? Mine says that it has been mailed but still has a yellow line atop of the application status. Nothing in the mail yet...

Finally! Got mine 10 days after my wife got hers... Both mailed Nov 30 (priority mail) she got hers last Wed, got mine today.

Today marks week 2 and and the web site still says awaiting paperwork. I'm not a patient person.

You can probably count on 30 days just to show received...
Here is my timeline so far...
Online Application: 11/26/12
CHL CLass/Fingerprints: 11/30/12
Submitted Documents: 12/03/12
Received by DPS: 12/05/12 (sent return receipt required)
Background Review: 12/31/12 (Under Review)
26 days to get a status change from "waiting to receive documents" to "under review".
Expecting review to take as long or longer.
CHL class trainer said at the time (Nov 30) that the average was up to 8-10 weeks at that point for clean applications.

My son mailed his packet in on 11/27. Plastic in hand 1/9. (The day after his birthday). he was hoping for a birthday CHL but missed by a day. So thats 43 days. About the same as my husbands and mine.
