Ol' "Rainbow/Push" is indeed delusional. Almost goes without saying...

IIRC, some WWII rifles like the Japanese Arisaka had special rear sights to help soldiers who were trained to shoot down airplanes. Now, mind you, those were reciprocating engine, propeller aircraft...and from what I gather, those rifles weren't all that useful in shooting any aircraft down...so, weapons without any special sights are supposed to be used by people with no special training to hit fast-moving jet aircraft, which is what I'm going to guess he's suggesting? Ridiculous!

What's the formula for figuring out how much you have to lead a jet at 10,000 feet traveling 200mph in order to hit it with a round from an AR-15 in just the right place to bring it down? :anamatedbanana :anamatedbanana

He should ban birds from flying first if he worried about downed aircraft.

Yeah, I've seen some pretty nasty bird strikes over the years...a couple on aircraft I worked on, not just pics. We had to change an external tank on a C-130 because a bird caved in the nose cone on it and cracked the tank causing it to leak slightly...yep, birds and aircraft don't mix...somehow even if ol' Rainbow/Push wanted to ban birds, though, I don't think he'd have much success...not that I would put it past him to try.

yeah, a beech jet at my school had the pitot tube just about ripped off the plane from a birdstrike. They aren't anything to sneer at.

The Rev. Jackson actually makes a legitimate point, not about "assault weapons" but the vulnerability of commercial carrier's aircraft to ground fire. I've never understood why the ends of commerial airport runways don't have a constant police presence during flight operations. With known distance and speed of the aircraft, paricularly at take off, known velocity of the round, calculating lead isn't all that difficult.....

Magazine!

Oh, wait. Sorry. You were right. It's almost an automatic reaction to hearing that word anymore.

I guess because JJ has an audience folks know about what he currently says and does.

Me, I fall into the category of those who: Simply ignore messages like his.

I don't pay any attention to radicals of any kind, be it jj or piers or fill in the blank.

If these happen to show up on my radar, I ignore them.

Easy...

I caught "Virginia Tech," "assault weapons," and "less secure." That was about it. :???:
