If I lived in California I would be a felon for having my Assault "Clips" for my glock.
I think you think you are joking, but in fact you are correct. No magazines holding over 10 rounds are legal to buy, sell, own or possess unless you owned and possessed them in California before some magic date more than ten years ago. Get caught... no more guns forever. They will let a couple of rapists and robbers out to make room for you, though!
No, i know I was not joking. I lived in California. I had a friend with a glock, he had to order some "spare parts" for his magazines, the end result being a factory magazine holding 15 rounds. He never got caught, but we all knew the "risk" he was taking.

Went to my local Walmart today: No 7.62, no .223 or 5.56, no 9mm (except two 20 round boxes of HP), no .45 ACP, one box of .40, and no .22 LR --not even CCI, all they had was .22 short, and not much of that. They didn't have much other rifle ammo either....a little .17 and 30-30 and a couple boxes each of some of the less common calibers like 22-250.

OK, so we're not out of the woods yet. I too have been just been to my local Academy (Pasadena), and no 9mm. They did have some .40, .45, and some .22lr. I guess it'll be a while yet before things truly settle down. But they will settle down.

Yeah, I'm sort of surprised....I expected them to be out of .223 and 7.62, but I wasn't expecting a run on other calibers, handgun ammo, or 22 LR. Even the UK allows people to own .22's. I've got .22 on hand, but was planning to go shooting on Wednesday, and wanted to pick some up for the range.

Walmart in Bryan, TX had lots of 9, 40, and some 45 today. No WWB but some Rem UMC and Federal of each.

What I was surprised to find in short supply is .22LR. I was out today getting ammo to take my kids shooting before college goes back in session. I expected some shortages and was not disappointed. But I was able to get all of the pistol calibers I wanted except one.

Everywhere I checked, including Wal-Mart, Academy, and Cabela's was out of .22LR. I know plinking is popular and I saw how even a .22 will become an assault weapon if Ms. Feinstein has her way, but this was something I had not expected. A shortage of .22LR ammo? Things are getting ridiculous now.

Freedom Munitions in Houston still has a pretty good selection. I just ordered some 308 this evening.

My local Walmart is out of most except 30-06 and rat shot 22.

I was in Academy a few days ago and the only .22LR I saw was rat shot. There were a couple boxes of 22 short and some .22WMR but the pickings were slim. I've resisted mail-ordering .22LR because of shipping costs but I may have to rethink that.

Went to Academy this morning to see what they had in stock. As per usual, they were out of all the most popular rounds. Only .40 I saw was some Federal Hydra-Shok. I asked the guy on what days do they get there shipments and he told me Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. He said on those days people are lined up outside the door at 6 A.M. waiting for the store to open at 8 just to get in and buy what ammo they have received that day. He said it's a madhouse and all is gone within minutes. :willynilly:

Cabela's in Fort Worth 35W & 170 has (or had) some 9mm ammo delivered this morning. We just bought 10 boxes of American Eagle. They had about 300-500 boxes left at 0915.

I just went to Academy in Lewisville and BassPro in Grapevine. Both were completely out of 9mm and 22lr. I was planning on going to the range with my son while he is home from college. He is going to school in the People's Republic of Massachusetts and goes through withdrawal. I was really surprised that was no expensive self-defense ammo. Hoping that things get better in the next couple weeks, but I doubt it.
