Austin: Woman no-billed after shooting "boyfriend"

#1

Post by seamusTX »

Friday a Travis County grand jury no-billed a 43-year-old woman who had fatally shot her "boyfriend" in self-defense.

The "boyfriend" had tried to kidnap the woman, threatened to kill her entire family, shot her dog, and tried to shoot her.

She shot him with his handgun.

Reportedly she was badly beaten when she reported the shooting to the police.

It's rare for a woman who uses deadly force in a domestic dispute to be no-billed.

I think the part about him shooting her dog weighed heavily on the court. Where I come from, you just don't shoot other people's dogs. You know what I mean, Bill.....

I understand that, in Texas and parts of Tennessee, shooting dogs is frowned upon. ;-)

Hopefully she will have better luck/make better choices in dating.
