Once again, a person fails to call 911 and claim victim/complainant status. The only other available role in this drama is to be the perpetrator.

I don't know what to think I was not there. As far as I can see loud music is no excuse for a shooting unless there is more that I do Not Know

Of course no guns were found in the suv. What idiot would leave them there while waiting for the police?
There is definitely a lesson to be learned here about why it is important to avoid conflict. I obviously can't say that it is what happened in this case but you can do nothing wrong and be 100% justified and legal but still go to jail for murder.

This bears repeating. Be the first to call 911 because you want to be the complainant, not the suspect.Jumping Frog wrote:Once again, a person fails to call 911 and claim victim/complainant status. The only other available role in this drama is to be the perpetrator.

This isn't always the case, it usually boils down to who talks to the cops first not who calls

Re: Teen killed by Florida CHL'er
To me this whole thing comes down to situational awareness. If I pull up to a pump next to a bunch of teenagers in a car playing loud offensive music I'm probably moving on to another gas station. If I'm pumping gas and the same car pulls up I'm probably stopping the pump and moving along.
Am I entitled to pump my gas without being audibly assaulted by loud offensive music? Yes, I believe I am. Is it worth a confrontation at the gas station? Absolutely not.
If someone really wanted to push the issue they could leave the station and file a complaint with the authorities but I doubt I would even do that. Too many more important things in life to get caught up in all that foolishness.

Re: Teen killed by Florida CHL'er
This article has more info and a embedded video of his interview with police. IANL and never played one on TV, but this guys actions before, during and after this altercation make him look guilty as sin IMO.

I dont know what really happened here but speaking for my self. I try to avoid anything that could escalate into violence Etc..........
Everything is covered in the CHL manuals. If he followed CHL guidelines (The use of Deadly Force) then there wouldnt be a problem.
Every bullet that leaves the barrel has an attourney attached to it!!!!

This Dunn guy's life is ruined!!!! He had choices. He made a decision-now he has to live with it. I would have chose to tolerate the music for the few minutes I was there. Then leave. There are some bad CHL people the same way there a some bad LEO's. (Just my openion)

Not only that, the HuffnPuff got at least one fact wrong:Heartland Patriot wrote:And doesn't anyone think that the HUFFINGTON POST, a site noted for liberal-progressive/leftist thought, would like to post an article that is written in a fashion to fan the anti-firearm flames among their base? Especially now, with the BHO administration securely in power? The "facts" from a single newspaper article posted on a left-wing website do NOT make it an open-and-shut case. Look at the previous case of the "angelic child" and the killer "white" guy for comparison.
Except Zimmermand didn't use Stand Your Ground.Dunn’s self-defense claim falls under Florida’s "Stand Your Ground" law, which was the same claim used in the defense of George Zimmerman, the man accused of murdering 17-year-old Trayvon Martin earlier this year
Wonder what else they got wrong.
That said, it was an old article, from late last year.

Re: Teen killed by Florida CHL'er
I've looked through the article and tried to google it, but where does it say this guy has a chl? Seems to me he just had a weapon in his car as he did just pull it out of the glove box.

I have to remember not to really believe the media. Look what Happened to Zimmerman. Also there's lots of people that carry with out CHLs. Thats dumb too. also a felony. Not sure what Florida's car carry laws are but if this guy was legal in the car he was in violation when he took the gun with him. Wonder what really happended> Facts????

If you don't know Florida law how do you know he violated the law?Pecos wrote:Also there's lots of people that carry with out CHLs. Thats dumb too. also a felony. Not sure what Florida's car carry laws are but if this guy was legal in the car he was in violation when he took the gun with him.
