Well you are still alive. Right now there are 54,000,000 less people around to fund social security. There are 54 million fewer people to come up with the next amazing cure for Alzheimer's or cancer. The loss of those individuals on our society is unimaginable So I would say you still have a dog in that hunt.
Somebody has to feed, cloth, house and employ those 54,000,000 people. You reckon the Chinese are onto something with their birth rate mandates?
I suspect that you and I can debate this issue until the cows come home without any change in positions. So, what say we have some ?
I reckon the Chinese are going to have some VERY serious demographic problems starting in about ten years. They will get old and die out before they can realize their potential of world domination. Ah we'll, demography is destiny. When a society kills off it's potential, it destroys itself, thus it will ever be.

No, but it is not a federal issue. As far as I know there are no federal laws for or against abortion or that even regulate abortions. Those are state issues and laws and when someone takes the new evidence all the way to the SCOTUS and they may reverse or limit the previous ruling if they agree to see the case.
Let me refer you to the HHS mandate which requires businesses even those run by staunch Christians to pay for abortifacients. So there are federal laws mandating that employers play for employees abortifacient drugs.
Roe V wade is a federal case that permitted abortion nationwide when before it was decided state by state. So at the moment it is a federal issue. It would seem to me to be a step forward to return the decision to the people.
There's a whole lotta things wrong with obamacare, including this issue. I have a little bit of a problem calling that a law. If it is, and it probably is, how do you reconcile the fact that various companies and other obamanation friends have been given exemptions so they don;t have to abide by the law? Would that be like our exemption to carrying a gun because we have a CHL?

As you live in Montana and I in Va, I think it will have to be an online cheers.

I don't try to reconcile anything with that law,. It is an unjust and immoral law, voted into existence in the most corrupt manner I have ever seen in my life. The winning vote cast by Al Franken whose election was the result of felons committing voter fraud. It was upheld by the most ridiculous manner of legal gymnastics that was quite honestly unethical. I expect nothing from this law but immorality, corruption and injustice. ......and if this was a private conversation I could tell you how I really feel about the law and those who betrayed their country to vote it in.

And don't forget the 2-3 republicans that voted to allow it out of committee or it would have never come to a full vote in the first place. Olympia Snow and Scott Brown and maybe one more.

I think Scott brown was elected to try and keep that from happening and Reid found a way around it. But I will gladly (figuratively) tar and feather Ms. Snow and her RINO tail every day of the week.

Wait until the RFID chips that are planned to be implanted in all of us are implemented - you may have a lot of company. I think they are referenced around page 1,000 in the law and the implementation date is supposed to be March 21 2013. After so little pushback on the TSA atrocities, I was feeling like the American public might just roll over and take it. I guess we'll see.

Yeah, okay. I thought he voted to allow it out of committee figuring it would never pass a full vote. But, you are correct. Reid perverted the system and got around Brown's deciding vote.
Hopefully, several things will get corrected in my lifetime, but I think I'm going to need a long lifetime.

The devil you say? This is the first I've heard of this.

I heard that these RFID (?) thinghies were in the Flu shots at Wal-Mart. Anybody else hear this?

Not all "staunch Christians" share your exact views on this or other social issues. Christianity and morality are not the same thing. There are many types of Christians with many varied beliefs. If all of us Christians believed exactly the same things there wouldn't be dozens of denominations in every little town. My personal beliefs are none of the government's, or anyone else's business, and I don't want either group to make my decisions on them for me. I vote for fiscally conservative candidates regardless of their personal statements on those issues because their INDIVIDUAL feelings are just that, and not binding on me.

We don't get flu-shots around here......read the stats on them, did a risk vs reward, not worth it. When in the best circumstances it maybe gives you a 50-50 shot at being protected (less if you are a child or already have a comprimised immune system) but definitely lowers your immune system for a few weeks right during flu-season......thanks we'll wash our hands.
I have heard two conflicting things on this. One is that they will try to chip us like dogs.......there is a reason we have that second amendment.
The other is that this has to do with tracking implanted devices such as hip replacements in a database. X person got hip #234.674 from company Y, so that if here is ever a problem with those hips it is easy to find those with them.
I hope it is the latter because the former is terrifying.

Generally mainline historical Christian theology takes a dim view of the murder of innocents no matter how small they are. The denominational differences are historically over smaller issues, which are a different topic all together. You vote as you see fit, so shall I.
However a catholic employer being forced to pay for the morning after pill does not sit well with me.
