Re: Took this pic today
The old Savage 99 was chambered in a variety of rimless rounds I have one in .308 win, Browning still makes the BLR in several different calibers, such as 30.06, these rifles can use pointed bullets also.

bci21984 , You could sell both of those, get one of these and have the best of both worlds:
And then buy yourself some ammo with the left over money.

I've almost bought that Mossberg 2 or 3 times, everytime I go to buy it, I feel like Im wasting my money so I don't get it...what would I do with it. I like my old woodstock the way it is and couldn't imagine any improvement. That being said, one day it will probably end up at my house as a conversation piece if nothing else. I guess it would look pretty awesome with a fore end a light and an ACOG???The Annoyed Man wrote:[heresy]

Re: Took this pic today
I actually saw one at the range about a week or two ago. Guy in the lane next to me had one. He had mounted some kind of cheap 3-9x scope on it, a flashlight and a laser, and he couldn't figure out why his rifle put a magazine load into 10" at 50 yards, while the old fat guy with the white hair to his right was putting 10 rounds into 1" at 50 yards with an AR15 carbine.jdhz28 wrote:I've almost bought that Mossberg 2 or 3 times, everytime I go to buy it, I feel like Im wasting my money so I don't get it...what would I do with it. In good faith, it was probably the shooter, not the rifle; and I do like the idea of a slightly tacticool lever action zombie gun; but that mossberg looks like a zombie itself. Ugliest thing I've ever seen, and I've seen some ugly in my time on the planet.

Re: Took this pic today
Good thread. I love my lever action Marlin in .357.
I vastly prefer a semi auto rifle like an AR or AK for what Col. Cooper would refer to as "social work" but a lever gun can get the job done.
And of course if you're going to have a lever action, you have to have a single action revolver in the same chambering, right?
Here's my .357 pair, a Marlin 1894c and a Ruger Blackhawk. The blackhawk even has an extra cylinder so I can shoot 9mm out of it if I want to.
