It's in the mail!

Attended CHL Class on September 9th, sent application package on September 10th, application processing appeared on Texas CHL website on October 8th. After spending nearly 3 weeks in background review it's finally in the mail. Hope to have plastic in my pocket next week.

I inquired electronically, per DPS website instructions, about our CHL 100 renewal apps received by DPS on 24 October and received the following "do not reply" e-mail reponse which in essence says, "BUZZ OFF".
Dear Applicant,

Thank you for giving the Department the opportunity to respond to your email question regarding a Texas Concealed Handgun license.

Once documents are received by the department, they undergo processing before being entered into the system for the applicant to track. Please allow more time for your record to reflect the receipt of documentation. Right now, it takes 3-4 weeks before we can see a status of the paperwork you mailed in to us. The overall processing time for new applications is 60 days, and 45 days for renewals.

Should you have any additional questions or need further assistance, please contact Concealed Handgun Licensing Customer Relations at 1-512-424-7293.
Maybe they've confused me with someone else? My name is not Applicant. There sure ain't no holdup when it comes to processing the payment.

Sure hope you're right stash ... I thought for sure it was going to be here yesterday.

I see you're a Marine ... when I was in nam in 69' we supported the 3rd Marine Division, 4th Recon out of Cua Viet. Cua Viet was northeast of Dong Ha and Quang Tri in northern I Corp. Nixon pulled the Marines out in July of 69' and replaced them with a mechanized unit of the Army. It really got exciting then ...

Welcome home ...
