Concealed Carry on High School Campus at Night
I run on a high school track near my apartment every night. This is not when school is in session or while any event is going on. Sometimes there's some sketchy looking people hanging around on the bleachers which makes me fill a little uncomfortable while unarmed. Nobody has ever threatened me or said anything to me, but still. If I remember correctly, it's ok as long as there is no school related event going on at the time. Is that correct?

Welcome to the forum. I've considered carrying when I run/jog, but can't figure out how to carry without hurting myself during that activity. How do you do it?BaleKlocoon wrote:I run on a high school track near my apartment every night. This is not when school is in session or while any event is going on. I did a lot of research on the topic of how to carry while running/jogging. The most common answer was this http://thunderwear.com/holsters.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I ordered mine about a week ago and haven't received it yet, so I can't comment on how well it works or how comfortable it is, but people seem to like it. I'll let you know after I receive it and try it out.

A good fanny pack works well too... And if you get one made for running, it'll hold a water bottle.BaleKlocoon wrote:Welcome to the forum. I've considered carrying when I run/jog, but can't figure out how to carry without hurting myself during that activity. How do you do it?

+1 on the fanny pack. Running is one of the few places they don't look out of place.

They are ok when running, biking, wearing touristy Hawaiian shirts at resorts, at a beach, at any festival ...

I carry a J-frame in the pocket of my shorts when I run. I don't wear the typical running shorts... a little too short for my tastes, but tend to stick with something closer to basketball shorts, and I wear a pair of compression shorts underneath. They usually come down to just above my knees. I've done speed work and intervals on a treadmill this way. I've run anything from a 5k to a full marathon this way. I keep the pistol in a small pocket holster to help keep it from bouncing around. Admittedly, on longer runs it will start to knock against my leg to the point where it can get a little bit uncomfortable. I've considered pinning the pocket to my compression shorts to see if that will help, but haven't had a chance to try it out, yet.C-dub wrote:Welcome to the forum. Hill People Gear has some interesting options but will probably stand-out a bit more in public... Site seems a bit slow. Hamster's doing double duty I think.

I wear a fanny pack when I run that also has a water bottle holder. Yeah I probably look like a goober but at least I have my gun lol.
