And to think, some do not understand why so many have a problem with the UN sending "observers". Look where the observers/monitors are from. We do not need monitoring or criticism from countries that do not hold democratic elections themselves.

The southern states had the legal right to secede. Lincoln initiated the war under the guise of defending federal property, Ft Sumter, etc. , but in reality it was to force the golden goose south to remain in the Union. The genesis of the war was grounded in economics; it was a rich man's war & slavery was but a game piece.
Lincoln stated that if it would keep the nation whole, he would support slavery; and the 13th Amendment outlawing slavery, almost became an amendment guarantying it.
Today the term "states rights" has become a term synonymous with racism.

SCOTUS' primary goal in history has been to slowly chip away at state rights and sovereignty. This is a consitutional republic of states - united states. 50 individual states formed under one agreement and flag. Anyone familiar with agreements between men - covenants - knows that if one party violates the agreement then the covenant is broken and no longer valid. Fed.gov broke the covenant long ago but the states have not responded in the manner befitting of the republic. Essentially the states have rolled over and played dead.

There is a very simple solution. The US withdraws from the OSCE and suddenly the "obligation" no longer exists. The threat of criminal sanctions against (international) observers is unacceptable,” said ODIHR director Janez Lenarcic. “The United States, like all countries in the OSCE, has an obligation to invite ODIHR observers to observe its elections.

Re: UN to Monitor Elections in Texas
I dont' think that the US is part of the OSCE, could be wrong but I don't think so. so this leads to say that there is no leaving/withdrawl to do, just to withdraw from the UN and throw the sorry group of communists out of the US
ok I am corrected, according to OSCE the US is a signatory to its charter, and the OSCE is not part of the UN and were invited by the US gubberment. but since the US Gubberment doesn't run the states no matter what they think the OSCE needs to NOT come to Texas because Texas didn't sign the charter, if the OSCE wants to observe they can go to the only place the US Gubberment actually controls DC

Ok, let the United States invite them, but the Republic of Texas isn't a member there“The United States, like all countries in the OSCE, has an obligation to invite ODIHR observers to observe its elections.”
Still, Reagan George, head of the election-watch group, Virginia Voters Alliance, expressed uneasiness about the presence of foreign observers in and around polling places. “I’d love to see (Virginia Attorney General Ken) Cuccinelli tell them to leave,” George said.

Re: UN to Monitor Elections in Texas
As I read this, Texas is not only the only State to say NO, there has been several other States in past elections that have said No to these observers. They will whine about it in their report.Jim Beaux wrote:Oh no...we're on report and we just may find ourselves on double secret probation!

They are used to working with Countries where the Central Government makes all the laws. In the US the States control the election process. Most States only allow qualified observers to view elections. Even LEO's are not allowed in unless asked to quell a disturbance or to vote!

Re: UN to Monitor Elections in Texas
WOW!!!! I can’t think of anything more that the NAACP and ACLU could do to increase Republican voter turnout or anything more Hillary could do to throw the election for Obama than this. I believe this will decide the undecided and even swing some democrats to republican.Bob in Big D wrote:As I read this, Texas is not only the only State to say NO, there has been several other States in past elections that have said No to these observers. I can’t think of anything more that would increase the American people’s desire for the country to get out of the U.N. than this.
Judging by this article the ODIHR has blinked.
I would love to see Obama’s reaction when he read or was briefed on this, especially Victoria Nuland’s statement that “UN affiliated OSCE election observers are immune to state law and warned Texas not to act on the threat to arrest any foreign election officials who come within 100 feet of a polling place on election day”.
I wonder if he saw his chances of reelection flying out the window?
Nuland “warned Texas not to act on the threat to arrest any foreign election officials who come within 100 feet of a polling place on election day”. I wonder exactly how the State Department was going to prevent it? I guess we will never know. Hillary probably convinced the ODIHR not to press the issue assisted by the governments of the ODIHR election officials.
Score one for Texas and Greg Abbot.
God Bless America, and please hurry.
