22 Pistol

#1

Post by longtooth »

Never owned a 22LR semi-auto hand gun.
Think I really need one.
4" or 5" barrel. Accuracy & reliability for BUG & there a good possibility of not getting cleaned on a regular basis.

Educate me & if you have one you just dont shoot any more we may talk.
This is the way I got my AK so seeing if it will work w/ a .22. :thumbs2:

I have a Kimber (weird) 22 conversion for my CDP. It runs like it should, has the same manual of arms as my 1911, and it's plenty accurate. Won't be a very good BUG though if you put it on your primary carry.

I don't know of any reliable .22LR semi-auto handgun that is small enough for a BUG. I am awaiting some suggestions, too. The new Ruger seems like a good gun, but i am not sure about it's size.

OK wrong initials. :banghead: :banghead:

BugOutGun.

Throw it in my bag & think about the difference in weight of 100 rds of .45 or 1500rds of 22.
A companion to my 10/22. Quiet in the woods for pot meat.

I have shot 4 .22lr semi autos and like you I know I need to buy one.

1. Browing Buckmark Camper
2. Ruger MK III
3. Walther 22
4. Beretta Neos

Browning- Feels nice in the hand. Was pretty accurate and from what the owner told me not to bad to strip down.
Ruger MK- When you think of .22lr semi auto handgun this is it. Very accurate for the one I shot. I think it is about a 5in barrel and ran reliable just like the browning. My dad hates stripping it down though. He says it is hell!
Walther p22- My brother had it for years and then sold it. Grip was nice for a concealed .22 but it was not that accurate and it would jam every couple of mags.
Beretta- The ugliest thing I have ever seen and this is what I plan on buying. Why? It is very affordable! Easy to breakdown and in the 6in barrel I shot it was more accurate then the Buckmark. Feels ok in the hand and never jammed with over a 100 rounds down range. Heavier then it looks. Easy to break down.

If your on a budget like me and want the best bang for your buck get the neos. Other then that I don't think you could go wrong with the Browning, Ruger or the other that I have heard is nice is the CZ Kadet.

I went with a Browning BuckMark.

Then I needed an excuse to buy a FastFire 3 for my AR so I put my FastFire 2 the BuckMark. FUN!!!

And with a utility knife, I modified the case so the FastFire 2 fits.

After I tooks those pics, I wondered if I could get a brick of ammo in the case as well.

You can!

So Pistol, 2 magazines and 100 rounds all in the case.

Any of those 3 are good. Reliable accurate and just need a light spray down with cleaner

I bought a S&W M&P22 before I headed back out here. I really like it, but I haven't put more than 200 or so rounds through it.
